I thought I would post my findings that it may help some one in the future. Voltage went high on my MEP-003A, 160+ VAC. Hz reading was correct but I had no control over the voltage using the voltage adjust and % load meter and voltage meter were not working. My initial thought was bad voltage...
I used a 102" stainless CB whip, shortened it to around 62", re-threaded the top of the base, I think it's 3/8-24, used a small military antenna tip on top of the whip. If it's just for looks the length really doesn't matter. I used a swr meter to determine the length of the whip for the best...
I printed them and the clarity is only fair, if you could find a way to scan them I think it would be better. Speaking of winches, Adelman's Truck Parts Ohio has new in the crate winch bodies for $250, no cable.
I am looking for installation instructions that came with optional kits for the goat to go into my book. I have the soft door kit instructions and updated engine wiring harness sheet, looking for winch, hard top etc.
Thanks
I would give Tom a call before going too far, I see a lot of work there. The alternator is hanging off to one side and I can't see the pulley which is unique to the goat. Also the front steering box cover is missing, I see a few red flags here. Windshield's complete are pretty cheap, around...
Yup reversed, that's the battery box top under the seat. All the fill's were exposed on M151's. Interesting tread pattern on the tires, locally procured I wonder?
The vacuum valve on the RH side of the pump probably needs to be adjusted, it rotates forward and back, make sure the tab on the back side of it is engaged in the pump correctly, tough to explain but self explanatory. NDT also makes a valid point to check the lines.
Unless the market changes the M998 is worth more, easier to work on, easier to drive, easier to find parts for and better for long drives. The Goat does have the unique factor, show up at a meet and you will probably have the only one and no one will know what it is. Would like to see some...
Long awaited antenna mount arrived today, hardware bag attached had a large hole in the side of it but only 1 nut was missing. Will get the antenna base installed this weekend I hope.
