Got the main electricals mounted. The batteries (3x 24V LiFePO4 victron, 15.3kWh) will be underneath the inverter/chargers.
I think this will be the location for the water heater and fresh water tank.
Someone asked a while ago, this is with the cab tilted and it's door closed. It has a...
You said it's a rough sketch so maybe this is already thought out, but as you have it shown the pivot is axial to the cylinder when in the retracted position. This would put all force from the cylinder into the pivot and the panel wouldn't move.
I like the idea. I looked at bifacials with hinges but opted for standard panels due to simplicity. Trying to make the truck as reliable as possible so simplicity and modularity are key factors.
To raise the panels with snow load on them would require a very substantial lifting mechanism.
I'm...
Took a few hours today and fabbed up the stairs mounting. For now straps can hold it in the upper position but I'm going to make something a little slicker.
Figuring out location for the webasto...can fit it nicely in the battery tray, however it's best for it to be higher than the tank to avoid bubbles in the fuel line. Would be nice to have it below the stock overflow tank and to be able to not have a second overflow. I don't have a lot of...
Mainly been working on design of systems so lots of time researching parts. Wallet is quite a bit lighter after diesel heater, victron electrics, heat pump, etc. Parts to start arriving soon.
Wife said she needed a sun visor so 3d printed up a holder and found some similar visors (a little...
Whoops! Lots of problems having it mounted that way. That would space out everything so less spline engagement and if it's on the rear it would pull it out of the diff carrier. It's not just the world's holding it though because the bolts go through both pieces. They also won't be ask concentric...
My C7 will change idle a little in the cold similar to what you describe but no where near the rpm of the fast idle switch. I'd guess a few hundred rpm change. This is including down in the single digits.
Not quite, notice the 40°F delta with 1.4kw, so about double that to hit 70f. It also took a LONG time to bring the interior up to temp so that 5kw will be very handy for that. It as a 2.5 kw power as well and will be heating water too so cycle time should be kept in check I would think.
