Yes, my feed runs through my attic. As long as it is properly rated for the current and there is overcurrent protection rated for the wire at the generator side.
You can run unbalanced, it reduces fuel efficiency, its best to have some load on the unused leg (couple of flood lights or a...
my school of thought is use a 6 micron as the lead filter and the 2 micron for the lag filter. tgis way the 2 micron only catches particles small enough to pass the 6 . better filtering with less chance of clogging the first 2 micron
I have a 004a and completely automated it along with an ats.
Since you need to go with an interlock kit you could still rig the generator to be a pushbutton start and self regulate the frequency.

This happens, its due to the increased magnetic fields dragging the engine down. In an ideal world frequency (in the states) is 60.0 hz. Utility can fluctuate slightly. This set does not have an automatic throttle to adjust. Frequency mostly impacts motors, specifically rpm (it also screws with...
Balanced, not so much (other than efficiency) no load on 1 leg, can cause damage over time. A few heaters or lamps can make a difference. Sometimes people use the third leg for a work shop.
For your loads you would need to take amp readings and inrush is a thing. Another thing to keep in mind...
Try testing it with the diode selection on your meter. As for a replacement virtually any bridge rectifier will do.

Easy check. Meter battery voltage when the engine is not running and again when its running. Voltage should be a but higher when running. That will verify the alternator is working

Neighbor: That things kinda loud
Me: Cold beer?
Neighbor: On second thought, Its not that loud
Me: you can plug your AC in
Neighbor: You know, I can hardly hear it
Generally yes that is correct. Anything with a motor cant be used. Some things that use line frequency for a clock signal will also not work correctly.

Not bad.
Little hint for future reference, If you need an LB (or LL/LR) and arent sure which to order. hold the fitting like a pistol LL for left and LR for right. For your install a LL might have been easier.
