Welding Cable! Hadn't thought of that! There is a welding shop about 45 min west of me, I'll have to check there next time I'm out that way.
Thanks for the idea guys!
Yep, just wanted to make sure. Didn't want to throw away money on a larger cable if it wasn't actually needed.
Anyone know a good source for 2/0 Battery Cable? Even Saturn Surplus only seems to carry up to 0-gauge. The only place that I seem to be able to find it is on flea-bay. I know no...
:lol::funny:
Well, the truck did come with walmart never-start batteries.... if they die they still have warranty
Yes, using the negative seems to be safest... Plus its the side you're supposed to disconnect first when removing a battery.
Thanks for the reminder!
See that's what I was thinking. I wonder why some people used smaller cable... price I would guess. But it's not worth it if its going to cause problems later.
Thanks!
I've been reading about adding a battery kill switch for some time now, as I need to add one to our deuce. I have already purchased two heavy duty 24v battery kill switches.
However, my questions/thought line on this is: The A2 deuce has 2/0 Battery Cable, Correct? I want to run new battery...
I've been reading up some about the Turbos, and I just need to confirm a few things.
First, our deuce has a C-Type "whistler" turbo.
Question: Can I replace this C-Type with a D-Type Turbo?
I know I've read some threads, where members seem to state that they changed from one type to the...
I've been doing some searching on front axle boots. I am sure that the solid boots last longer than the zipper boots, but I've also read of some only lasting a year? Why is this? Has anyone found a better axle boot that will last?
I have seen axle boots for sale, like on Eriks, that also state...
I found Ken in the member list and sent him a PM yesterday. Hopefully I'll hear back from him today or tomorrow and can ship it out on monday. We'll be waiting on the turbo to get back before we finish the exhaust. I am replacing the J-Pipe and we're adding a muffler, as the deuce is just to...
Thanks for the info Gimpy! I'll search for him in the members list and send him a PM today about it. See what its going to take and an approx time frame.
Thanks! [thumbzup][thumbzup][thumbzup]
Hi Wsucougarx! Yes I found and completely read through your Turbo Rebuild thread a few days ago. Excellent Job on the "How To" by the way.
I thought about rebuilding it myself, but I don't know. I'd rather just have some do it who has some experience with them, if the price is right. If it...
Hi Everyone, I posted a photo of my C-Type (Whistler) Turbo, in my Deuce Recovery, and now "project" thread located here, with Original Photo of the Turbo also attached below. I'm getting this truck ready for long trips on the highway. So I'm trying to make any and all repairs and a few updates...
Have you, or anyone else here, used the Lizard Skin Sound Deadening undercoat???
How good does it work under the hood and such, to deaden sound and vibrations???
Is there a cheap gun you can use to apply? I really don't want to pay $65 for a gun that I will just use once or twice.
Anyone...
Does anyone know of a reputable company that will rebuild the C-Type Turbo's?
I sent in for a quote to J & H Diesel, who I read about here on SS, but haven't heard anything back from them.
Thanks
Thanks for shedding some light on the photo of the turbo. I was thinking maybe that it could be "that problem" that I had read about... but hoping it was not. I'll have to look into it and see how hard its going to be to replace the seals I guess.
Yeah I do know about the 5 min rule. Been...
lol :-D
That is an interesting control isn't it :-D
My brother, who was driving the deuce on the recovery trip, figured it out one morning before we left the hotel. Even though we never needed them the whole trip, as we never once ran into a single drop of rain or snow the entire 2100 mile...
