    The refrigeration system is pretty low capacity. It would take a long time for it to freeze something. It is more suited to keeping items at temp. Its not going to be good for freezing them.

    You should be reading about 27v at the batteries with the unit running. If you are reading 24v it for sure isn't charging.

    Big +1 on this. Disconnect the battery and run it again. The 24v power system has a very limited output. A weak battery can cause lots of problems. The fact that the battery is dragging down the charging circuit is a good sign that it may be recoverable.

    These engines don't have the issues with caviation that the PowerStroke engines do so the diesel specific coolants are not required. That said, I prefer a good quality sillicate free antifreeze to save wear and tear on the waterpump.

    You both are right. If the thermostat is stuck partially open it will run cold at light loads and overheat under heavy loads. Personally I would inspect the thermostat and rule it out as the problem before running the set more. But thats me. ;)
