I made a $500 offer on the high dollar one. Didn't expect them to take it but you never know. We all should offer $500 on it. Maybe they will get the hint.
Its worth a try but I've found that once they start doing that it will get worse and worse till the thing is uncontrollable. Replacing the governor resolves the problem.
Based on a quick read that one won't provide the variable speed functionality of the OEM controller.
It would be nice to be able to get those things apart so the nature of the failures can be determined.
Well, you'll find out whether they are REALLY rated for 1klbs. My luck with ones from NTool or other bargain tool place has been less than satisfying.
I don't have photos of mine since they are far away but I build a dolly that fit the frame rails nicely on the 80x series. Used some 4" (maybe...
When I remove them I use a couple large screwdrivers and some wedges between the stator and the engine. Slowly work the stator off the rotor. Be mindful of where you apply pressure as to not damage the windings of the stator.
I'm sure there is a special tool for that somewhere. I use what I...

Where I differ in your assessment is with the need for a transformer. If you look at the data...
Can you shoot some video of it running then bogging down? We need to see how you are measuring the load and the condition of the exhaust stream.
This is what one that is wetstacked looks like when you try to load it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j9cI1l77fbg

+1 on knowing the fuel availability.
How much power is needed?
If you need to send down a crate that can be opened and put to work with a minimal of drama I would recommend a new unit and not a retired military unit.
I know it can be confusing to run residential single phase appliances on 2 phases of a 3 phase source but I assure you its OK (verify using appliance's data label). In the industrial world we do it all the time. A specific example is with freezers. In the biotech industry we use LOTS of...
