So is anyone coming Saturday? I'd hate to think I'm going to be sitting there, all alone, having my Chick-fil-a breakfast, in a windsweapt, dreary, Lowe's parking lot surrounded by nothing but the solitude.
Pulled the pump back off and undid everything to make sure all parts are where they're supposed to be, used air hose to supply air and had piston action so pump appears to be working the way it's supposed to work, put it back together, back in, still nada and now the cab latch button won't...
There's maybe 4 or 5 good posters in regards to LMTVs and Overdrive is definitely in that group. I'll be borrowing several of his ideas if I can't talk him into mass producing them so all I have to do is shell out the money for them.
Ain't nothin' but a thing. I learn to make better use of my limited intellect to find work arounds. Just took me a little longer to figure this one out although looking at it, it seems simply enough and you'd think easy enough to come up with. Too bad it isn't the next Facebook type idea...
The title will only be branded if they send the information to the state to brand the title. In my experience (as an adjuster, trainer, and claims manager) most adjusters are too busy or too lazy to bother sending the paperwork in. Or if you pi$$ them off they may do it just to make your life...
We had replaced the u-cup 2 weeks ago and I was just waiting for the replacement bumper so I could put it back together. I followed all the directions in NDTs pump thread including marking the hoses so I knew which was which and getting the u-cup in was not easy so figured it's in right (and...
Here's a tip if you're doing this yourself. Get some 1/4"x20 6" long bolts to help reassemble things. You can lightly compress the spring and start the longer bolts then alternate tightening each one down until you get close enough to put 2 of the pump bolts back in. Continue tightening all 4...
Well I told him to start a Home Business. Maybe you need to pay $20 to get the insider information. Or fly him to your truck so he can plug it in without telling anyone.
Okay I may not be the sharpest knife in the drawer but I can still cut butter. I finally figured out how to get the pump back together without a 20 mule team (sorry for those of you not old enough to know what Borax is). The first pic below shows how large the assembly is while it's still in...
You don't want auction prices since they're trying to determine value to pay him. You want to find the highest price M1009 out there for comparables. They should take private sales since these vehicles are generally not available through dealerships. Do a search for "For Sale" vehicles either...
Thanks for the suggestion but it's about a 10" spring and about 6" of canister and 2 ends so I don't have a c-clamp that big. The vise that I was hoping to use is a full size bench vise and it's not big enough. I think it's a 2 person job with 1 pushing down on the assembly (while holding all...
If you're going to do it in the fall how about organizing around the fall Steel Soldiers event in College Station? I'm not sure of the date but it's usually the same weekend that there's an event at the Museum of the American GI and the only fall item on the calendar is Oct 15th.
The spring is actually inside the pump canister and while technically you're compressing the spring you're actually pressing the canister down to it's mating section and then bolting it in place. I believe an actual "spring compression tool" hooks to the spring itself to tighten it down. That...
