Got some more parts today.
1) seat adjuster
2) hydraulic control cover hinge
3) rear spring bushings
4) sway bar bushings
5) front shackles
6) fuel sender
Fuel sender is going to be fun to replace. You have to undo straps and pull out the tank to get the unit in and out.
Yeh I mentioned that further back in the thread. The idea is that many people don't have any keys and want them. If they have a key, like you, and like I did with the other door handle, they can take their handles and this key to a locksmith and have them match it. That's much easier, and...
Alrighty! Got the other door handle keyed to match the 1st one. I also was able to get a dozen keys made so anyone that needs one can have it for the cost of cutting and the 2 stamps it'll take to get it there (basically $6.50). The cost to have the handle switched over was $35. The...
I just texted him the info for all the interest and he wasn't sure how many he had left. If I sent you his number go ahead and contact him. It could be he has enough or if not, ask him about other LMTV stuff he has. And let me just say I have no monetary or other interest in this just passing...
Struck out with my locksmith. I've been using him for years and he's usually extremely good but he is also extremely old. He looked at the lock cylinder and said if he tried to take it apart to get to the lock wafers he'd likely never get it back together. He also couldn't find any blanks to...
Understand that. I tried the key in 6 different locks and only one worked. That's why I'm taking both new locks to the locksmith to see if he can key them the same with the 1 key that works 1 of the locks. If he can do that then folks can take that key and both their door handles to a...
My guy only has 1 set left (and that may be gone as I sent another SS member to him) but they were about 1/3rd cheaper. Still pricey.
I'm taking my new handles in to the locksmith today to see if he can set the non-key handle to the keyed handle lock. If so I'll get about a dozen keys made...
A couple of scenarios:
1) Original buyer put AM General on the EUC paperwork so that's what's on the title now
2) Current owner doesn't know what he's talking about and maybe owned a deuce at one time so thinks everything is made by AM General
3) Both 1 and 2
Anyone have experience installing the new style covers? How do you secure the bottom of the front flap? The only hooks on the bed and are on the very end so the center is loose.
When they fire they start quick. I put a take out motor in mine that had been sitting for a couple of years and barely tapped the starter and she fired 1st crank. They are quick engines to start when working.
