Final ratio in the manual is 1:1. With the 4:56's you will definitely want the O/D. I can't help with the rim suggestions but I am sure someone will chime in. It would be nice if you could keep the dually set-up because of the bigger brakes.

Sorry, I just saw the thread. I am in Jersey but too far east to be of any real help. I don't have a deuce but I have a driveway and air, torches, welders and tools.

WOW! they must have a totally different pintle setup on the 1009. The 1008 setup is massive and no way would it do that. The 1008 is not supported by the bumper at all, it just comes through the bumper but the supports are all behind it. I put on a class 4 hitch on mine anyway but I still use...
If you are going to run the 4:56's then stay with the 700. putting the manual in is doable but a lot of work. The nice thing is that you have the donor truck complete so EVERTHING you need is there. Pedals, crossmember, driveshafts. the rear shaft would have to be shortened but putting the 14...
CJ, I towed a 5000 lb. boat on a regular basis with my civvie blazer with a class three hitch. Granted I had put in 3:73 gears but that is a **** of a lot cheaper than trying to find a good M1008. You have had nothing but trouble with your military vehicle and have spent thousands of dollars on...
When I had my shop in the 80's I put 3:73's and 4:10's in a ton of Blazers that had 3:07's in them from the factory. The only ones that had the 3:73's from the factory were bought with a towing package. I do agree that the 3:08 and overdrive was worthless but that was the thinking of the day...
You DO NOT want to cross the border into Canada with firearms!!!! You will have to ship them or take the ferry as long as you don't have to go through Canadian customs with the guns.

I will bet big money that with the intake hose off the turbo is packed solid with mouse nest, and yes, they piss and crap where they sleep which will have corroded the interior of the turbo housing. Exhaust is open, if there is no drain hole at the bottom of the pipe the water will have gone all...
If you put in a manual switch and are using the original series glow plug then you cooked them. They will only handle full power for a fairly short time. That is why most go to the AC60 plugs.

A dog in the cab of a skidsteer? Sounds like something I would also do, love my dogs. Problem is that when I am in there there ain't much more room for anything else.

Jimbob, The first thing that caught my eye in that picture was the stencil saying CARC 99. And there is mold growing on the trailer! I thought that was not supposed to be able to happen with CARC?

Maybe it is just because I am old but I had one **** of a time reading that last post. I had to read it several times. I guess it all makes sense to the texting generation but not me. My phone makes and receives calls, that is all it does. I have texted on occasion and I do take the time...
Are you sure the water in the oil is just not a blown head gasket or cracked oil cooler. May be a perfectly good engine. I would definitely get it and check it out.
