I don't have answers for you, but I have always had a special interest in the MAN built MV's. I'm subscribing to this thread so I can follow along.

I was thinking that the old linear bearings on that Expando-Van might be resurrected - at least temporarily - by lubing the slides with some POPCORN BUTTER that might be found in the bottom of the POPCORN MACHINE if there was one onboard.
