New owner m1009 but problems already

That's where my lighting issues were coming from. Missing a jumper wire in the dangling blackout connectors. PO(?) removed the B/O switches.

    Vaccum pump for 6.2l

Exactly. I just went through this vacuum pump search. One guy I talked to called it a "solar system-wide backorder" For any of the ones that are reasonably priced. What is available are new ones(borg warner) or NOS that will run you close to $300. I got a good used one from the SS...

...When it finally spoke...I beheld a Great Cloud...and it was white. And the whole of the neighborhood beheld it too...and called the cops.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

I once got a CB900C given to me free because it sat outside uncovered for 10 years with the carbs off. Guy said it was locked up with rust, which it was. I put a couple squirts of ATF in each cylinder and tried to get it to break free with the starter. Two tries each day...Clunk...Clunk...let...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Mounted my bridge plate. Thanks rocket990. Added some bumper numbers The FL-NG-X had been painted over and was on the original CARC green paint. The VIN search only revealed a UIC of W1Q9AA which so far is a dead end. So I just went with Non Tactical Vehicle #3

CUCV head gasket / head/ or change engine survey

Great...now I see this. Mine were shot so I blasted and painted the tracks but couldn't find the replacement felt. Only a big roll for $80. Scoured our considerable salvage yards to no avail. (I did find a set of torsion springs, though.) I could only find one side NOS for $86, So I sprung for...

    M1009 (Also) Turn signal issues

Do you still have the blackout light control switches installed and plugged in? Mine were removed and the main power wire(OR-OR/BLK) was jumped in the remaining connector. I took me weeks of futzing with bulbs, sockets, cleaning grounds, etc to come to the realization that the PO failed to...

DOT 5 vs 5.1? What are you using?

Is there any way to tell if your newly purchased CUCV still has the original DOT5, or was switched over to DOT3 by someone previously? I don't want to add DOT5 and have a mess if DOT 3 was in there.

What is this thing on my M1009?

Yeah, that's a bubba added hood lock of some sort. Maybe kept locals in Kosovo from stealing the Yankee's batteries. Kinda like the spare tire and steering wheel chains that many have

    M1009 to use for parts?

No, no A/C. Only the M1010 ambulance version had A/C for the rear box. That does mean there is a source for compressor bracketry, though.

Looking forward to the pics. Yeah, the crimped ring needing to be ground off kept me from taking mine apart without a having a replacement.
