After a long and expensive run around(3 turbos to make one) I finally have a fresh rebuilt "C" turbo to install on the deuce. The "D" turbo looks to be a recent replacement and very nice, its going to a SS member who was kind enough to help me get this project on track. Here are a couple of...
False alarm, I have to work that day and can't get the day off. I talked with one of the sponsors and they said it was going to be about a 3' deep pit but not sure how soupy. I appreciate all the advice and offers though, still could come in handy some day! My front boots are both leaking so...
The local fairgrounds is going to have a mudrun and I was looking for some advice on how to better get through it, its going to be low impact I believe. Just curious on what range/gears/tire pressure etc.. I usually baby my equipment and stick to the tar but I thought a little green iron...
If I understand correctly most of the parts stores air filters don't meet the cfm requirements of the original filter. I bought an original one from Saturn.
It seems that only the 1976 edition of TB 43-0209 covers the M35A2 MERDC pattern, the other manual does not, it has other variants of the deuce but skips the cargo truck for some reason as well as the M151 jeep. Still looking-thanks.
I tried downloading TB 43-0209 here but it stalls out and I don't even know if its the 1976 version. If you have a copy of this pattern from the manual I would greatly appreciate it.
Sampled the two drain plugs and nothing which is good, I am sure what little I got from the prefilter plug was it. I did my basic training and 12B mos at Ft. Leonard Wood in 85. I will box the heater up and get it out next week, the only part I don't have is the fuel pump that was mounted in...
Bjorn, you have always been quick to reply to all of my questions and have offered sound advice. I have a complete fuel fired heater with controlls, wiring ,etc . I pulled it from a cucv ambulance I had. I know it all works because I used it a couple of times. All pretty minty as it was in a...
I recently bought 2 sets(front/rear)of composite light lenses from Frank's for my deuce as the ones I have now are badly faded. The lights are original Prestolite units. When the lenses arrived I noticed the screws were pretty flimsy, not like the origianals which appear to be stainless or...
I believe the brake band on the pto side only works when the clutch is in, when the clutch is out the drum is disconnected from the drive side of the winch allowing it to free spool. In order to "control" the payout of the cable you would have to reverse it out under power or have someone put...
3M makes a spray adhesive that works great, just spray it on the stencil and it will prevent the overspray. You can get it at hobby/craft stores. I found paint mask stencils do a much better job but they are a one shot deal.
