So is that gonna be enough for a six ft tall person to be able to lay down without being close to a fetal position, since the bed is sideways in the trailer bed??
Just curious
Nick
In lookin at number9's photos, Im likin that more and more. Thinkin I may do that for mine.
My question is: how much bigger is the M105A3 bed than an M101 bed? Just wonderin if I were to do that, would I have extra room like you do?
Thanks
Nick
LOL, if the boy comes crashin down, ya might wanna have him test it without you under it, LOL. Dont wanna be like "Step Brothers" and have "blood all over the place"!
LOL,

2cents, I would see about the top being lengthened. My first thought when I saw what you've done was to just add some more boards like the upper ones to fill that gap, then make the top longer to make it back to the trailer. That way, if you take the cover off, its still symetrical.
I like...
How do they not look in the backs of trailers before those things get auctioned off? Or do they really not care? More stuff to hafta figure out what to do with?

Thanks Rosco. I got lots of thumbs up on the trip. I like to think this trailer has the best of both worlds, its still a strong military feel with a civilian twist.
Ive been thinking of doin the tailgate thing to allow it to stay flat, without going all the way down. Since I added tie down...
One of my stops to make sure everything was ok. I was kinda paranoid at first so I stopped a few times to check the wheels, bearings, springs.... The last pic is just a reference to how much it squatted and its normal stance.

My Dakota is a manual five speed, so I was worried aobut braking since my 101 doesnt have surge brakes. But since I could down shift it wasnt an issue.
Now, when I put it behind the power wagon,....not too sure i'll be haulin heavy loads like that!!

:driver: Last week I made a trip from central Ca to Orange County Ca with a load of four Dodge Flathead motors in my '52 M101. We estimate the total weight around 300 to 400 lbs a motor.
My M101 was spectacular!! I was worried when we got em all loaded as the trailer continued to squat lower...
Mike,
My trailer is considered an "early" M101. Its a 1952. As I understood it when I was trying to find out when stuff changed, like the handles on mine, to the barrel style handles, the change wasnt too long after 52, like maybe 53-54. I beleive thats when the electrical connections changed...
I was able to get NDTs, tubes and flaps at my local Goodyear truck tire shop. That was for 9.00 x 16, but he said they could get em for 11.00 x 16 too.
Maybe if you have a commercial Goodyear shop.....

If i may, with my 2cents, dont use the "do it yourself" roll on bedliners. I used the Hurculiner from J C Whitney on the under side of my M101 bed, and in the bed of it. Underside is doing ok, cuz it doesnt get "used" . The bed however, shows that this stuff isn't very durable. I have slid a few...
