What are you gonna use it for? What are you gonna pull it with?
Mine has 900x 16 original non directionals, or NDTs, they arent bad, other than get a flat spot if sitting for too long. But its a neat original look. Get lots of comments bout the trailer and just as many about the tires.
And they...
Jeff has got it right.
Although its not designed to dump, it will. You need to loosen the bolts, and it will bind due to the angle of the frame. For this reason, you need to make sure the brakes are tightly adjusted so when locked, the wheels wont overpower the brakes and continue to roll...
Ok, my bad. But that wasn't my intention, and Im not just saying that. I know alotta guys have been doing and talking about trailer modifications into campers. I just wanted to show someone elses idea and outcome.
Sorry, didnt mean to break the rules.

Just curious if you have done anymore on this project, if its done or what. How bout a few more pics?? I like seeing other projects and the thoughfulness that goes into em.

I used, at the recommendation of techs at hurculiner, "Alkyd Metal Primer" from Sherwin Williams. Its said to control rust, which I said was no big deal since I had the bed sand blasted. They said, and it said in the directions on the can, to wipe it down afterwards with acetone. All that was...
Doesnt help me much, mines done!! LOL. Id hafta blast it all off and start all over. Wonder when they changed from primer to no primer, cuz my cans said primer.
Mine was sandblasted clean, wiped with acetone, and primed with the appropriate primer. I put two coats on, and I can just about scratch it off with my finger nail to the white primer underneath. Dunno, maybe I got two cans outta the same batch that were bad??
Exactly, and that was my point, ya get what ya pay for. I agree on the touch up, I just think its gonna get old touchin it up virtually every time I use it. but oh well. I got a long way to go to get to 2 grand of touch ups!! :-)
As Ive mentioned in some other threads, I used hurculiner in the bed and underneath of my M101.
Its crap for the bed, underneath is no big deal. It scrapes off, peels and exposes the primer under it. And I did EXCATLY as the directions said. Granted its easy to touch up, just blob some on to re...
I like the ammo can idea. I actually has considered a small metal square tool box on the tongue, so I don't know where I'd put another, like an ammo can. But I like it.
The pipe and caps on the "A" frame is a good one too.
So the actual paperwork on real military trailers wasnt carried with...
Im looking for something decent looking and somewhat period correct for storing the registration on my 52 M101. This way the registration is with the trailer and not in my truck when I loan it out or whatever.
I keep seeing those clear plastic bubble lookin things and I'm not crazy about em...
Nice, I like it too, but with my rear stabilizer leg, I couldn't do that. And since i dont plan on moving mine much by hand, I went for the outside the box on the tongue option. Had alotta compliments on how it looks. Especially since I have the ndt's on it.
Still like it though

Did ya make the one leg longer than 6 1/4"??
Ive noticed that mine hits the frame when cranking it. If the part the has the slot in it that actually turns the crank on the leg were longer, it wouldnt happen.. get it out away from the frame more.
2cents.
Looks good though.
