Thanks bshupe. With the head set / boom mike concept. For me I think a speaker mounted behind my head would be preferable to wearing a headset. Twelve years with a CVC on my head was more than enough for me. I think concealing a civilian antenna would be my beat bet. I am talking a trip up to...
I have been thinking about this whole CB issue also. It's a great idea and I would prefer one to the $$$ of a military radio. I just have two questions. #1 How can you hear the dang thing inside the cab of your truck. Is there some kind of additional speaker you can add or something. #2 So...
Looks good to me. I'm a big believer in field expedient methods and mods that won't break the bank. I made an entire snorkel for my air breather out of schedule 40 PVC and I think it looks pretty killer. Not to mention I paid less than $30 for everything.

Awesome idea. I wonder if you could build one out of those old steel medical lockers. There built the same way and out of the same material as the ammo cans I think. Also in case you can't find your laser temp gauge here is an old Boy Scout trick to measure the temp with the bare hand.
Hold...
Welcome from a fellow newbie. I'm in Dallas now but wife and I will be moving to Castle Rock after the first of the year. I hope this isn't a conflict of interest with this site but since you are in the central Colorado you may want to check out the Military Vehicles Collectors of Colorado...
