When you installed your turbo did you go with the serpentine belt?
After checking the specs on your new pump it looks like the pump you installed is the stock unit for a v-belt drive setup. The serpentine belt rotates in the opposite direction.
With that being said there is no guarantee which...
My son had a rice burner honda with an aftermarket air cleaner tucked behind the front bumper. After driving though a puddle he was wondering why he had a hole in the side of the block. Seems the connecting rod didn't like having the extra water inside the cylinder.
The cluster is not the issue. It is how the trucks wiring send the power to the cluster. And yes it is done with the wiring, relays and diodes.
As long as the circuit film (really not a board) is the same, it will work with the trucks wiring.
The circuit board could care less what is sending current thru it. It is the truck wiring that is wired for the GEN1 and GEN2.
As long as the board is laid out the same it will work.
A circuit board from a mid 80s truck with idiot lights will work. If it has guages it will not work.

After checking all the bulbs in the instrument cluster we will work on the charging system.
One item you will want to find is the exciter plug for GEN2.
You will want to remove the instrument cluster cover and also the instrument cluster for cleaning.
The cover comes off from the front. Remove the screws, move the transmission shift all the way down. Pry out on the cover and remove the wiring for the Wait Light, Water-In-Fuel light and the...
Before beginning any troubleshooting of an electrical issue, make sure your batteries are fully charged and load tested. Test them. Do not assume.
I am working on a truck with a similar issue. The front 12v system battery is good. The rear battery may be bad. It only had 7.5 volts. I am hoping...
Happy B-day. I still have the toolbox full of rocket parts that I collected when my kids where young. Maybe one day they will get used again with future grand kids. When I was a kid i would build all my own launch pads and what not. Many rockets went missing. :-)
