Probably not the kind of thing we would want to volunteer someone into.
Not everyone wants to turn their home into a scrapyard for stripping down and scrapping parts.
I know I wouldn't.
One exception is listed in the rules;
"Do NOT post links to current eBay auctions or Craig's List ads that are not your own. You may post a link to your own auction/ad only if it is in an information/discussion thread about you vehicle/item. Do not start a post in the Conversations forum or...
Do you know how to read 12vdc on a multimeter or voltmeter? If so, read each individual battery, and just replace the one, or ones, that read less then 10.5 volts.
Very likely it has a bad cell in it pulling the other batteries down.
Now thats what you call a frame off restoration. I wish I had the shop and tools to do mine exactly the same way. Heres an extra tidbit for ya....
I have mine insured with State Farm. $535 per year. Its to much so yesterday I start to investigate and seek options. If mine is completely restored...
If you get in a bind, and no one can jump you, just stop by WalMart and pick up two $75 batteries. They'll start it if it is only a weak battery issue, and it sounds like you may need at least one anyway.
There is a M101A2 trailer in Central Fl for sale with cover on craigslist. They are three times better then a M105 for a civilian vehicle. But, they cost more too, due to the demand and useability for multipurpose useage. The M105 is great for a deuce, but that's about it.
And yes, I have some...
Getting it to start is not the problem. It's getting it to stop.
No worries. Clinto has plenty of DOT 5. Hope it's not in the air pack. Good luck with it Dan, and be sure to let us know how it goes. Oh, and send pictures. Lots and lots of pictures. We like pictures. Get it? Hint, hint...
Glad you reminded me. I have seversl of these official military tm's that fit in the glove box I need to put in the classified tomorrow when I can get a picture and post from a computer. They will be $8 and $2 shipping. I keep a copy with my deuce as they are almost pocket size
It is free on...
Tie down the steering wheel, and avoid tight turns. Right hand turns are always tight.
If possible, get someone to steer the rear towed vehicle until you get it near a straight road anyway, where there will not be any more tight turns. Especially in mud or grassy areas like at GL yards with...
Yes, and a HMMWV is to unsafe to drive on the road, unless you're a firefighter or LEO, who is guaranteed to drive it wide open with or without emergency lights.
Expect more change. :)
For the better. Congratulations.
Thanks to a tip from Juan, I got them both, new, for $80 and got two great orange 3" LED lights that bolt on them as well. You can buy them on a well known auction site from time to time half your quoted price or less. The lights work well bolted in without the bucket. Not sure you can easily...
He's one of my favorite vendors, as with many of our SS folks here. He manages to get a lot of really interesting stuff.
For what it's worth, we've been informed before, the LED lights are not repairable, on multiple occasions on this board.
He sells them as inoperable. Combine that with non...
I purchased these same windshield wipers, along with two other different kinds of sets, (air and electric) just in case. I noticed the one hole install as well, so I never installed them, concerned it might be an issue with slippage. Good to know someone else had some sucess. Also, the wiper...
Can you use soda in lieu of sand in something like that? My dentist does that with my teeth, and I understand soda blasting is a lot more forgiving on lighter metals, but not sure about this machine with a water mix.
