To ANDY--- Have not verified this same condition will exsist on our CUCV's--- but I'm sayin' ditto on that solenoid thing. Had very similar probs with my civi 1-ton w/TH400 trans and a guy reccomended I disconnect the SINGLE wire leading out of trans body on the driver's side--- then do a test...
Maybe this doesn't count 'cause it aint done yet, but my numero-uno mod would be installing the Gear Vendor over/under drive I picked up last fall. Right now I'm just trying to cover all the preventive maintainence stuff and it's not exactly going like gang-busters... (I think it's called...
It cranks--- GREAT!
Question; Did you remove the fuel cap first before cranking? It's all there in the TM's!
If you did then BINGO-- your fuel-starved for some reason or another. Now before you go buying a new fuel pump, take your fuel line loose at the FP under the rt-side engine block and...
What a WASTE! As a heavy equipment operator that kind of careless sh**t just GAULS ME! California-OSHA has certification laws for certain eqipment, especially forklifts. But that still won't prevent hacks from running them unless management doesn't care what gets damaged and in this case, they...
Yep--- was just there in Vegas myself a few weeks ago and I'll sure vouch for ol' Sgt Mik--- he's about one the finest! And now maybe he'll have a little more room around the house for more trailers and such--- lol!
Anyway, this is a great travel-log Warthog, enjoyed the pictures and always...
WOW--- 285's fit inside stock-suspension wheel wells? Like no rubbing in the turns? (front) A while back I read where you lifted your '08 and it looked good w/oversize tires. But I was informed by a tire dealer that 265's would be the max size for a stock suspension, which is the way I like to...
Best thing I've found for ants are those little metal poisin-feeder things. DON'T buy the flimsy plastic-cased ones--- they don't work. Get the little metal disk-shaped ones and the ants will be gone fer good.
TWO M101A2's at Nellis AFB transport to SoCal
Ok, here's the deal: I'm reviving this post because my retreival program is WAY behind schedule!
Got TWO M101A2 trailers at Nellis that need tranport to Victorville CA Feb/Mar 2011 or ASAP. These trailers are BOTH road-ready but my tow vehicle is...
Roger that, not looking to re-mount those oldies. But I am looking to maybe buy some new tires (or newer used) and mount to rims then go get 'em balanced. My idea is to save a few bucks on mounting because winter treads are what I need for now. Then later when when summer rolls around I'll want...
I need some advice on this subject; Talking about regular tire/rims, NOT split rims.
Got some tire irons and been taking tires off wheels with NO problems lately, using a few differnt methods for breaking beads of course, and I can get tires off the rims alright but in doing so I'm getting...
ABSOLUTELY! Bought this tool when I first got my M1008 and had to change out FOUR (4) swollen gp's---- this thing worked like a charm! Did the job in about 30 mins and took my sweet time. If you've got the stuck-GP blues, get this thing and save yourself tons of work--- Highly, highly HIGHLY...
WOW---- SHE'S ROLLIN' STOCK! Great to hear about the success story... and BTW, those road signs in the photos look familier... guess I've been down that lonesome road a time or two.
Best of luck on your project!
Well if rusted-stuck is your first problem then I'd just keep soaking them dogies and like Warthog said, do a little tighten then loosen action to see if they'll wink. A few probably will.
Cycling the gp system might not be advisable but that's just me 'cause I'd be afraid of making more probs...
BTW; it's not legal to drive a motor vehicle while wearing headphones in the State of Kahli-fornia. Passengers of course can wear a dirty diaper on their head and the CHP won't take much notice... it's a shame, but true. (no profiling?)
Looks like 'The Kind'. Use something similar to these when we go for group cross-country flights in 4-6 seat-ers 'cause everybody wants to listen-in on ATC.
Only that rig you're sportin' has some advanced options... I like it though! Problem is, if you get anything like this from an aviation...
BTW; if you DO get those plugs to move without wreaking your heads, here's 'The Ticket' when it comes to pulling swollen GP's. When I did mine, 4 were seriously stuck/swelled and I was getting ready for some serious headaches. But I found this guy's puller (from another SS thread) and BOY----...
As I understand this, you have gp's that are rusted solid into the head? If that's the case then Dude--- you had better soak those gp threads with penetration oil for about a week before YOU DO bugger-up the threads trying to drill out broken stubs... yikes!
How about pulling the injectors...
Dude, that HAD to hurt some kind of bad... and it was so avoidable. These kind of freak-injuries happen in my industry all the time. In fact, I've hurt myself a few times!
Here's what you need--- I swear--- these things are WAY handy!
