Katrina Deuce Story - MUST READ

KATRINA +11 Years.... BUMP ! Today is the 11th Anniversary of Hurricane Katrina's landfall. It's appropriate that we all be reminded of what we can do with our MV's in a time of crisis...

    M35A3C Run problems

Also look for algae in the fuel tank. A SHORT run time would be about right for enough algae to completely foul the first fuel filter. if you crack open that Fuel Filter Can and there is a light brown slime you will need to THOROUGHLY CLEAN out the algae and CHANGE the Fuel Filter Element. ADD...

    1/3 scale B17

Thanks, Rory. Twas an optical illusion indeed. His miniaturization seems to be true to scale. Quite an accomplishment on many levels.

Do these 2.5 tons have sealed brake drums ?

Agreed with all submitted suggestions. It's also a good time to check, clean/replace the axle vents. And please thank them for their service. Carry on.

this a 5 ton? (A: M51A2 with LDS multifuel engine)

It IS an older 5-Ton as already verified. Some of the "dead-giveaways": - Longer Hood than a Deuce. - Longer Fenders - note the LARGE OPEN SPACE behind the front wheel. (The Deuce has nearly uniform clearance fore and aft of the tire.). - 10-Bolt Wheels (already mentioned). - There are other...

    1/3 scale B17

Thank you for posting this up! That photo of the aft view seems to show - I'm sure it's an optical illusion - that the clearance between the propeller blade-tips and each other, and with the fuselage may be nonexistent. Realizing the scale dimensions are most probably quite authentic, I'm sure...

Behr Paint Jobs- Show me your MV's

It sure looks tiny among it's younger generations. But let us recognize that that one... yes the little one... stands tall and honorably as the war veteran, one much nearer the GREATEST GENERATION which continues to salute and bring noble recognition to all those who have served. God bless...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Those darn mis-matched bumper heights.... There ought to be a LAW!..... Oh no!!! Wait a minute.... If there was a LAW then somebody might notice the mismatch between the bumper or bumperettes on a Deuce of 5-Ton with that leading edge on the Ferrari. Dang! You'd think that for $300-400...

    My new M109

Of the thousand pounds or so of spare parts we got when we won our Deuce, we are fortunate to have a freshly tested, ready to use radiator. It's got its own cozy spot in our storage area where its not likely to be damaged until and if we ever need it. Being valued at $800.... We only paid...

    cool tag on my truck.

Probably not so much that your engine was shipped to Germany FOR the rebuild. More then likely, the engine (and the truck it came out of pre-rebuild) was ALREADY IN Europe (again, probably Germany) when it was pulled and tagged for rebuild. Then, it was simply depot rebuilt or contractor rebuilt...

Own your own B-52!!! Buyer Load, ran when parked.

No tug in our motor pool, BUT..... We DO HAVE a Deuce, a 5-ton Semi-Tractor, a Medium Tow Bar and a HEAVY Tow Bar too. Thinking outside the box, I'm visualizing BIG TOW recovery IN MY DREAMS. If it weren't for that TOTAL DEMIL requirement, I'd love to mount the cockpit section as though...

    Dropside bed

I have TWO of the drop-sides, but no bed, headboard nor tailgate. Not sure if I'll ever sell them or just continue collecting parts for an entire bed. They make handy ramps for light loads... kinda steep for a 4' high deuce bed but great for a utility trailer, m105 or other lower load height...
