    Singled Out Deuce Tractor

Did they go 20" wheels? I run the 16" on the Dodge.

Is a Dana 80 strong enough?

I run a '95 Cummins Dodge off road recovery/towing with a 60 in the front and 80 rear. 39" tires, locking diffs, approx 400hp/800tq, weighs 8,000 unloaded. The 80 Rear would probably be sufficient, I have been unable to break mine, and I have had F350s hanging off my hook and in rough terrain...

    Deuce identification

Naw, not the axles, just the VINs on the frame/dash. Trying to get a few together and establish year for this one, that's how I figured out my '62. Thanks

Too bad I missed it, was in Montana for a graduation.

    Deuce identification

My guess is it's an earlier truck and the '64 was stamped when it was converted. The answer is in the serial number I'm sure. Anyone have trucks around that era we can compare? That's how I figured out my data plate-less '62.

    Deuce identification

Deuce identification 1964 M35 Lansing/White I found another one of my deuce-converted-to-water-trucks at the Motor Transport Museum in Campo, CA. Has a non turbo multi but appears to have originally been a gasser, small dash, no tach. Rear pass engine mount has bolts, not rivets, which I...

Anyone interested in heavier duty hydraulic head button retaining clips?

Might be a good idea. The pump I have I found laying in the dirt.

Anyone interested in heavier duty hydraulic head button retaining clips?

I think they'll be inexpensive enough to make, I'm to the point where I need a sample. I have a trashed pump I need to tear apart. I won't be able to play with it until next week, keep on me if you don't hear from me.

    Goodyear MVT vs. Michelin XML

Really? Do tell. I've been running the "little" 39" XMLs on my dodge hard for a long time.

    Goodyear MVT vs. Michelin XML

Shannon, I'll be running around SoCal. Street and desert. I run XMLs on my Dodge, I think the MV/Ts would be best to avoid burying the deuce, would you concur? Thanks

    Starter warm-up?

Couple more things that weren't mentioned in this thread yet: how many volts is the alt. putting out? Batts might be good but alt might not be fully charging, or there could be a batt drain. It's been said many times to check cables, but check ALL of them CAREFULLY. Check voltage drop and...

    Battery post melt down

Ah, yes, I see...if the joint doesn't conduct well, the solder will melt out "in a flash". :-)
