    sorry for the newb question

an airshift deuce has two transfer case shifters. the shift lever that sticks through the floor slelects the range of the T-case high, neutral, or low. The airshift switch on the dash engages/disengages the front output of the t-case( which turns the driveshaft engaging the front axle) The...

    2.5/ 5 ton wheel question

I have to agree with the OP, 5ton ( or maybe hemtt)wheels with deuce centers added. that is the firs time I have seen it done that way. I wonder how tough it is to access the lugs?

11.0-20 NDTs on a deuce, good idea?

another advantage of 1100 is a healthy increase in the load rating of the tires which in my opinion is a very good thing especially on the front axle.

    General Tire Temperature Question

I don't have a good answer for what "too hot" is , but my tires get hotter than my hubs. As long as the tires are in good shape (not age checked) and are properly inflated. I wouldn't worry too much about them until they start changing colors or developing bulges. If either one of those...

BTW pics don't do Joe's 5ton justice. That thing is awesome. Joe I think you should take some pics of it next to your work truck or maybe that jeep.

    deuce w/ hiab 950 knuckleboom

Please note that none of what I have done is particularly original. I'm just a newbie compared to cranetruck and miltruckman. where I started http://www.steelsoldiers.com/conversations/9547-truck-progression.html the transfer case PTO there are (at least) three different types of output for...

    deuce w/ hiab 950 knuckleboom

Tires are 1100 20 on m34/m135 rims with the rear hubs flipped. Flipping the hubs isn't very complicated and would add very little time to an inspection/repacking of the bearings. the hub flip is documented here M35 DUALS TO SINGLES CONVERSION

    deuce w/ hiab 950 knuckleboom

had fun at clinto's today. A worsening leak on one of the cylinders means that as usual plans have changed. Repacking cylinders and replacing the last two hoses moves to the front of the line... you know, the more I look athis pic, I'm thinking an m38a1 tree house would be kinda cool.

    Working at Clinto's...with the Deuce

Thanks for posting the pics. I was amazed out how much hold that adhesive/sealant had. It took way more force to break it free than to suspend/lift it once it was off the truck. Also it was great to put another name w/ a face here on Steelsoldiers.

New deuce owner in central GA. Need help.

the only issue I had registering my truck is that you have to have insurance to get a registration (in GA) and most insurance companies have no idea what to do with a deuce until they see its registration (or title) since I had not title it became a catch 22. Gulfway insurance of florida was...
