John, glad you sorted that out before you purchased them. I have some tires/wheels for sale but they are in Oklahoma. You should be able to find some closer to home.
Ahhh, those are not 5 ton, HEMTT, or M1076 wheels. They look to be MTVR wheels. Bolt pattern is 10x13.25. They will not work on a 5 ton. Send them to me, I can use them. The price is good. Yesterday, I paid nearly $450 for valve stems and nuts for 10 MTVR rims.
If they are 5 ton wheels, that sounds like a good price. Do they come with valvestems, o-rings, bolts/nuts, and beadlocks? You could easily spend that much again if they don't.
They should be about the same, but I have seen the Xls listed at 43.1" and Titan NDTs at 43.5". I wouldn't mix match radials and bias tires on a truck though. Of course if you actually measured the ten tires on your truck right now, I bet the variance would be more than .5" between them.
I posted this pic a few years ago, but thought it might help with some of the recent tire questions. The pic includes these tires:
Titan 11.00x20
Michelin XML 395/85R20
Michelin XL 15.5/80R20
Michelin XL 14.00R20
Michelin XZL 16.00R20
I probably should get a new pic including a 9.00x20...
Ross, you are going to want to run HEMTT wheels and 16R20 tires. I have a few sets mounted up and ready to go. You may need to machine the front hubs a little for clearance.
Re: RE: Re: RE: Duece tires
Allen, the 1400x20 will not work on a deuce (unless bobbed or serioiusly modified) even if you use OD rims. The 46" is the max tire size for a stock deuce. I have several of those available in Oklahoma if you need any. Michelin XML 395/85R20, Micheln 15.5/80R20...
RE: Duece tires
Unless you bob it, or make other serious modifications, 1400R20 tires are going to be a bit large on a deuce. 14.5R20 will work fine though. Are you getting new rims too?
When I drive my M1009 on the interstate at 75 MPH, I usually average about 16 MPG. When I filled up yesterday and entered my gallons and mileage into my fuel log, it came out to be 29.84 MPG! How could this be? Well, I towed the M1009 and the odometer ran up a little. I wish I could get 556...
I am trying to use some MTVR wheels on a project but haven't been able to find the TMs online. Does anyone here have them? I was surprised to learn the wheels take a special large bore valve stem. I assume this enables the CTIS system to work easier by allowing more air transfer quicker? I...
Great pics, thanks for sharing. Got any more of the Oshkosh PLS with the HIPPO? I would sure appreciate any high res pics of it you could send to my email. Link is below.
David-
Thanks for posting those towbar pics. The damage to the towbar is impressive, especially given that it is the non-adjustable medium/heavy towbar, not the commonly available adjustable medium one. The medium is rated for up to 40,000# though.
I know GL has renewed their contract and I was told that the Government is making them change a lot of things up. One of those things deals with consolidating down the locations (again). For example, I heard that everything West of the Mississippi will be consolidated at one site, possibly in...
Thanks for the comments guys. I saw a good opportunity to buy a few trucks in my home state, so I took advantage of it. Here is a pic zoomed in on the fifth wheel. It is good to see the fuel prices falling, I saw gas today for $2.29! I don't know how many trucks it takes to make an official...
