That M35A2C looks a whole lot better than most GL trucks I've seen.
Horst, did you go ahead and buy this one from a private owner, or was this a GL purchase.
And if a GL purchase, is this typicaly of the deuces you see come on the auction block at GL?
I can imagine these old vehicles would...
I had the same problem, came on here and reported, and was told to look for dirt dobbers clogging up the holes too. Sure enough, there was mud in there. I got a screwdriver and scraped it out, and the air was just a flowing. I almost couldn't believe it, except a SSer was the source. Cool stuff.
The local Warner Robins scrapyard often has a sherriffs deputy parked around it. Sometimes he's inside. For the most part, they don't want to end up with Railroad scrap. I can pull up in a rust bucket of a M105 (we've all seen those) I don't want, fill it up with scrap, pull the tires on...
Curious how the Btu rating works on these MVs as 18000 obtuse will cool a 1000 sq ft house.
That's a lot of space for a vehicle though the lack of insulation and gaps make a considerable difference.
Anxious to hear Raves report after his install on whether he has to turn it down.
I know what you mean. I'm cleaning out a house today and its 97 degrees.
Ill send you a can of Battling Bulldog beer if I find the part.
Its a Georgia Bulldog thing. Not drinkable but a collectibles in this part of the Country.
Difficult to get a cold one to ya.
You're probably going to be at a breakeven price after fixing it all up. You might do better to find one that is in much better shape, but having the quality up front, and save yourself a great deal of effort. You should be able to get a good quality deuce for $4500-5500, depending on how it is...
Ouch is right. Glad you made it home OK.
Steve are you going to mount rear shocks in yours?
You do such nice work, I'd love to have you bob me one, but I'm afraid I couldn't afford the #1 top quality work. Keep the pictures coming.
NDT, I believe you, but find it shocking, with the hundreds of $billions of dollars of equipment we are leaving over there, because it is "to expensive to ship home", they would want to bring back M105s on their limited shipping budget.
Isn't the government reasoning grand? Weird stuff.
If you took pictures of the leaks, that would help eliminate some of the guess work.
Is the pop at 2K consistant?
You need burn off the fuel in there, change out the filters, and go with clean diesel to investigate further. The smoke could be the fuel. Is it surface rust, easily cleaned with...
Honestly, and I don't mean this to be insensitive, but "who cares?".
We all sell and swap things which make it all better for the overall community. The fact that you sell discounted tires is NOT a bad thing. And it is definitely not a conflict of interest when you have always given true...
Don,
What type or model number is it? There's a few different types. Not sure if you have the standard blue one used by the miltary a while back or a different COTS model. Is there any other LED, like a green one not lit when the red is on?
Not sure if this is still open or not. I received an email solicitation from Wounded Warriors today, but not through the name of Steel Soldiers where my only contribution was made.
I guess they are collecting email addresses of all those who donate and renewing solicitations for Memorial Day. I...
Dave
You rock!
Keep em coming.
How is the newer compressor bracket working out?
Would you consider making another for me on consignment?
Keep us informed. Good stuff.
