What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

Howard, I was thinking, since you like taking instrument panels so much. Why do'nt you come down to Marietta some time, and help me with mine? LOL Or better yet, just wait until IF you are ever in my area.. I'd pay ya a decent amount in money, beer, pizza, etc... lol When I get work done...

    Class 3 reciever on m1009

Hi guys, I am just wondering something. If a stock M1009 with the 3.08 gears, is rated to not tow anything above 3,000lbs, then what is the point of getting a trailer hitch rated for a higher weight? The only reason I see to getting a receiver hitch, is to be able to tow with any other...

    You "people" amaze me!

Simon, I agree, the guys here are so knowledgeable and helpful, it has always amazed me too. I can still remember the times they have helped me with my M1009. And I will do the same for any of them, all they have to do is ask. Especially since my M1009 is running fairly reliably now...

    Tailgate crank assy for dummies!

LOL, My only problem is. Even though the window cranks up and down great, the lock cylinder keeps coming out, whenever I pull out the key, so I need to take it apart, and find or get a retaining clip back in there.

    Question about my cap.

Maybe a gun turret like on the top of a humvee... 2cents Or maybe that is where a tractor beam from a UFO cut a hole in the top of it, so it could abduct the passengers in the back seat. 2cents

    STE/ICE diagnostic port, Atlanta area

Hi guys, The reason I mentioned the Atlant area is. Because I was wondering if anyone in the Atlanta area that has one, can hook it up to my STE/ICE port, to check for any issues I may not be aware of. I would be willing to pay them to test it, as long as it did not cost me an arm and a leg...

Hi Guys, I know a place in my area that has metal old style military surplus Jerry Cans for about $30 bucks, if I remember correctly.

    Wire ID (pic)

Hello llong, That wire attatches to a small pin/post that sticks out the backside of the drivers side alternator. If you have an electric tach, that post/pin is where you would connect it to, to get a signal. I remember that wire, because I had to replace both my alternators a few months ago...

Hi Guys, Just an inquiry, anyone here in the Portsmouth, Va. Able to do a recovery from there to Marietta, Ga. For me, hypothetically speaking I win something I have my eye on, from our favorite auction site? Total towed weight, only about 3k. (it is a trailer). Just an inquiry, nothing...

If I remember correctly (which is hard for me to do sometimes, since the head injury...) I do not think anyone has asked me that question, but I admit to people that it is, when the subject does come up. Since that is what I will use it for when the time comes. Just my... 2cents...
