I'm guessing it was the 2 from IA. The one is actually an M816 wrecker they misdescribed as an M818. Hard to tell without seeing them first hand. Value is what someone is willing to pay for it depending on how bad they need one. More info would help
Regular ferrules. I actually use DOT nylon air line which is rated for fuel. Haven't had any trouble in years and have had numberous mechanics tell me they use it also for this application.
I like the air filter message. I do that all the time at the guard shop when I do oil changes on military trucks and APCs. My messages usually have a lot to do with what mood i'm in or who may have crossed me that day, lol
I haven't had any trouble with any of the 14 deuces I have. Are you using take out pumps or did you buy a brand new pump. I know they are spendy, but they should last 30 years.
LOL, yeah I think that is within reason. Putting a sleave into it isn't really a very practical option for this setup. Works great on seals and things like that, but I don't think it would last in the yoke. I also have a powerline company customer who their guys drilled out the winches so they...
I have read the threads on the shear pins with the tests etc. I have a winch that the previous owner drilled to 5/16 so the correct 9/32 is out of the question. I can't seem to find the shearing psi rating for 2024-T361 Al to compare it to the GI 44-45,000Psi rating. Does anybody have a...
Tossed around the idea of upgrading the rear winch and crane drive to hydraulic motors and running a PTO off the T/C. I'm not a fan of all linkages, gearboxes, driveshafts, and shear pins. Basically upgrading it to an M939 series wrecker body.
I've got a barely used Hobart 135(earlier model number) for sale if anyones interested. It only has about 10 hours on it. Only selling it because I got a commercial Lincoln for my shop and I don't need this on. PM me if anyones interested.
Anybody ever order that DVD or anything like it showing MVs in use in Vietnam? Just wondering how great it is considering they want about $30 for a 60 minute movie, lol.
Karl,
You always seem to luck out and get great trucks. I know it's a heck of a fine for running with a mis-plackarded vehicle so you will definately want to take off or change the plackards. I have a collection of them hanging in my shop. Awesome truck buddy.
