Welcome to the group. If you need any parts or service on your truck i'm just 20mi north of the border in SD and work on the M915s and deuces. They are a great truck for sure.
Welcome! I'm just over in South Dakota and have years of deuce experience if you have any questions. I'm just going to warn you that MVs can become very addicting and one is never enough !!
For us it was a matter of time and money like someone else said. The time to buy premade lines with numberous joints that could leak. We did 2 our customers trucks with micro brakes installed, the location wouldn't work for a cheap type that needs more room to flare, ect. The mastercool set...
I have the hydraulic line flaring tool and absolutely love it. It gets into tight places and has already paid for itself with my business. It was around $600, but like I said, having the right tool makes all the difference.
Thanks guys. I'm gonna get my paint ordered. I mainly wanted to touch up the areas where the paint flaked off and it was rusty, but might just repaint the entire thing by using the existing paint as my template. I'm not too worried about fading as it's a working vehicle. She runs like a...
Here is a pic of my MW24B loader that I want to touch up, but i'm having a hard time figuring the exact MERDC color. I think it is winter verdant(Forest Green, Field Drab, Sand, and Black). The one color looks brown to me, but that might be about what the field drab is supposed to look like...
We just turned ours in last week, so yes they are still going strong in some units. There aren't enough FMTVs yet to replace the trucks, so they are at the units in liu of the FMTVs.
1/2 or 3/4 pipe works very well. Like the guys said, you just as well tear down both sides and run the pipe through from the other side. about 3 good hits and it's out. That is how we always do them.
I searched and didn't find what I was looking for. I'm trying to find a few parts for my 30K and am not having much luck. I think there was a place down in TX or somewhere names Dales who has a ton of parts, but I can't find their contact info. I bought from them in the past and there were...
Well my alternator and transformer died a very smoky death the other day and I was wondering if any of you guys have found a better civy 12/24 alternator for your M915s, M916s, ect? I don't really want to shell out the $575 the local places want for a replacement one. I want to keep mine stock...
It's the old vent line. Later trucks had these removed because of contamination issues. Replace the 1/8 pipe thread fitting with an axle breather and then buy a tube plub for the tee that the line connects into. Check to see if you have brake fluid coming from your slobber tube on the engine...
I've been using Lucus Hub Oil in all our steering gear boxes and winches and for the trucks we build for customers. I really love the stuff and have had great results with it. Seems to condition the seals and slow leaks also.
Sounds like your drum seal is out. New winch doesn't mean much when it sits for years after the install and doesn't get used. The seals will dry out and go bad. My M816 crane winch is also leaking. Seems to be a common thing.
