Actually, Tim at Jackson watches everything like a hawk. Still had tools in the box, and 4 brand new dogbones in the cab and complete set of motor/transmission mounts, plus a ladder. I went over every month or so and started it up, and whispered grand stories of the day I finally will come to...
They never really started replacing the LDT with LDS. The LDS wound up in deuces because some mechanics wanted a faster ride, or someone wasn't paying attention when they ordered a new engine for a deuce, or it was what was laying around at the time. The LDS is a multi designed for the M39...
Um, I just finalized with the boss about bringing your bolster trailer to you on Sunday then swinging by Jay's to get DC3's R-2. I also have to deliver Dawn's two trucks to her in the next week or two, so I could grab the paint and give it to Clint.
Got all that?
BTW, Jay, is Sunday an ok...
Probably in the next 2 weeks. I'll have to check and see what all I have going on. do you have a way to winch it on the trailer? I have a winch I can use if I ask nicely...
Hmmm... I would like to look into this. Anyone know a good place to get a brownie box? say a large truck wrecking yard?
Also, hurry up! I want to see video of the m819 done already!
And who put the idea in your head? ME! rofl
It looks outstanding! very high quality work that will last a long long time. I too am blessed to have a wife who likes to get 'down and dirty' with the trucks. It is very good to have a helper that won't drink all your beer!! Can't wait to see it in GA.
If they can ship a civilan hummer, there shouldn't be a problem. I've seen several H1 hummers on a car haulers. I believe they are the same width as the military version.
I had the complete 5 ton multi filter setup that I was going to mount on my pass side of my m109. It has since been stolen, but anyway...
It is HEAVY, say 75lbs at least. Imagine that mounted on your fender, bouncing up and down all the time. Without some extra support for the fender, I would...
I've been in the yard at Eastover several times in the last few weeks. What info are you looking for? PM me the lot numbers and I will see about going and looking for you next time I'm there.
I have put LED bulbs in my M101 trailer, and wired in a flat 4 to the standard harness on the trailer. There is a plate on the driver side tongue, behind that is where the military plug wire connects to the trailer harness. Just tap into the wires there and add the flat 4, so you can connect either.
Having used my M818 to haul 62 loads of rail and concrete crossties, fully loaded 76k-80k, in the foot hills on back roads, I can say- It will do the job. It is slow, but way more powerful than a deuce, with better brakes.
I used my M35 to move from VA to SC, with a converter dolly and a m146...
