Sgt Racing, would you recommend any retailer and item (ether bottle) that naturally fits this generator? Maybe I just used a wrong bottle.
Good luck with the locked up genny. Maybe you can take off the exhaust manifold and somehow add some Marvel Mystery Oil to each cylinder? Just a small...
Nehog, I gotta say that I would also look at improving the color of the text, it is hard to read indeed due to low contrast. Simply making the text lighter would do the trick. But I am very happy with the content of this forum.
Re: ether. The generator came with NO fluids, and NO ether bottle...
Got my MEP-006A generator to run, it runs pretty good, I think.
Still need to figure out what to do about the ether cold start system. It does not seem to do anything.
I will use a belt AND suspenders approach. I bought a gallon of "303 protectant", which is VERY well regarded for similar uses (boats). In addition, I will throw a cheap tarp over it.
I put a sheet of plywood between the top bows and the vinyl to straighten it out, to avoid any formation of...
I mostly care about usability and longevity, not so much about authentic looks. I use this trailer to make money. So, if silicone spray can preserve vinyl, I would love to use it. What sort of spray do you have in mind, specifically?
My attitude is: :grd:
I have a homemade trailer that I made from a M105A2 bed:
Homemade Trailer With M105A2 Bed
The nice thing about it was a 12v brake and a much lower setting of the bed.
It was good, but I always wanted to have it covered. As luck had it, I recently bought a M105A2 and got myself stake sides...
I am in IL and a local base has a Deuce for sale. I am not sure if I want it, because upon a cursory look at it, it seems to have some problems.
But my question is the legality of it in IL. Do I need a Class C license? SECONDLY, assuming that I am properly licensed, is it legal to drive it off...
Due to the issue of trailer height, I ended up fabbing my own frame under the M105A2 trailer bed:

20 humvee doors (actually could be 21 or even 22) came from this lot

I am willing to sell all of them to one buyer for $160. It makes them pretty cheap.
They are made of plastic canvas type material. I threw away 3-4 doors that were torn...
Genset noise
How noisy is this genset. I had a genset with a Lombardini motor, it was awfully loud and impossible to start in cold weather. It was also 3,600 RPM, air cooled. I finally sold it and bout an Onan DJE.
That's what I had...
Re: RE: Re: RE: pictures
I am sure that you are right, though I wonder what exactly accounts for this rusting. Could you, perhaps, tell me just why tube rusts faster than channel.
Re: RE: pictures
Thanks! That's my hope anyway! If I do not see the LEDs, I know that the trailer fell off ;-)
I am going to put the electricals on, and then I will go to have it weighed...

I still need to finish electricals. The trailer tows well. It has a 5,000 lbs GVWR rating. Details and photos (really a lot of them) are on the page above.
I wanted to get a trailer...
