I have a fantastic local hydraulic shop that has made awesome brake lines for my motorcycle in the past. Why would people not agree with this course of action?
I inspected my lines, they all seemed to be in good shape, no cracks or anything, but I dont know if that the whole story or if...
Almost forgot!
Are new brake shoes available at Napa? How much do they cost?
I dont want to order these online, since I dont know how many sets I will need. I would rather order 4 sets to napa, and return the ones I end up not needing....
There have been a few suggestions for projects. (Including rebuilding the brakes on my truck) but we have not decided anything for sure yet.
Im sure you know my vote. :)
I had a wheel cylinder blow out on my deuce, thankfully I was in a parking lot, there was no one and no objects harmed. I found a forum member who towed me home and all was ultimately well. Since I have had one fail, I aught to pull off all six drums and inspect them all.
That was one of the...
I am not happy with my State Farm policy and will be looking into a new insurance company, despite the fact that the Deuce is cheaper each month than my C20!
My reason for displeasure is that they cannot insure the Deuce against theft and vandalism.
Me to! I have not had five mins to look at the truck since we parked it with brake problems (Or the forum for that matter)
Have yall found a project? If not, then I do like the idea of tearing down the six brake drums on my truck and making sure this problem will not be coming back...
Well, sorry I didnt post up last night, but yes I am home safe and sound. Last night I was so exhausted I just went to bed.
The truck is most likely going to sit for a little while, I need to worry about finding a new home and getting stuff at work settled down.
Luckily I have the parts...
Hey yall, as I pulled into work today I went to park the Deuce. While parking, I was pushing on the brakes pretty good and then all of the sudden lost all pedal pressure. Luckly no one was injured, and there was no property damage, but I have a puddle of brake fluid under one of my wheels...
As it turns out this fuse was blown (Or just corroded inside to the point of not functioning) despite not looking blown. I have never seen rust inside a glass tube fuse before!
When I bridged it with a length of wire the pump came alive and were back in buisness!
Two things still on my mind...
Well, got off work at 2am, and was so excited to that I just parked the chevy so that the headlights shone onto the fuel tank of the deuce and carefully removed the top of the fuel pump. I had to be very careful because I was still in work clothing, which is tan colored pants.
Not even Chuck...
Im not far from Everette, and I make semi regular trips to Everette, one of my good friends lives there and I have a source for WMO there. I think Im about 50-70 miles?
Does the pump have a built in fuse? I tested at the connection and I have positive and ground....
There is a local place...
I drive my Deuce on long trips more than just around town. I drove it back to Tacoma from Riverside Ca a bit over a month ago, and I have since driven it down to Portland twice. Apart from an Axle shaft that started to leak and these old bulbs burning out every time I look at the truck (Just...
I will do my best! Because of the time and location I should be able to go, even if I had to leave at 2pm for work.
I sure hope you make it, I want to see that truck up close and personal. I have fallowed your build with some real interest!
