Need help with unidentified noise please.

Started two days ago. Kind of a randon noise from under the M1009. I checked it when I got home didn't find anything. Yesterday it started sounding like a pice of wire had wrapped around the turning rear wheels, or driveline- it was definitely from the rear near the center of the axle maybe. I...

    Hood tune up.

I've been fighting with the hood on my blazer since I got it. I pull the release and sometimes it 'pops', sometimes it wouldn't. I also noticed that the front edge of the hood seemed to be high like it was partially sprung. Just before hunting season, I was driving to the store and the hood...

This seems to be a seasonal issue for the M1009 Transmission.

Well for my M1009 transmission anyway. As the weather gets cold enough to make my belts squeal until the engine warms up, I notice that the Blazer does not move when put into gear right away. During cold weather the Blazer takes a few minutes to build pressure or I don't know what, before the...

Brake pads that break... not a spelling error :|

My M1009 Blazer started squealing in the front passenger pad the other day. I hoped it would go away because I just put in new pads 2 weeks ago. Two days later, they were still at it. I pulled the squealers out and found this. The brake pads were literally falling apart. There was a hairline...

radiator leak could not be found.

By me anyway. I ran it over to my favorite AC/Radiator shop. They called me to say there were multiple problems that should be addressed. I inquired new or rebuild of him. He said I wouldn't find this quality today. Definitely rebuild. Quote: $254.00. I know they'll do a great job. I'm taking my...

What is making that squeal at start-up?

For a while now every time I start cold (in the morning) my M1009 something squeals if I give her any pedal. Checked my belts, all new and correct/tight. When I let her warm up for 4 o5 minutes, it goes away. Anyone have an idea what does this?

    Rust! Am I done for?

The SafeLite guy is here replacing cracked windshield. There was a small leak on and off over the years and I neglected it. So now it looks like I'll pay. He found rust at the top of the windshield- passenger side. It's flaky and a little spongy. He won't warranty it if he leaves the new...

    Shift points have changed

Yesterday before my P/S pump bracket broke on me I noticed the shift points were not where they usually are. First gear wound out a long time, and then shifted hard. Second to third was the same way- I wondered if it would ever go into third. At first I thought it was the modulator- but I put a...

My truck is actually not a M1008. Its a 1973 3/4T Custom Deluxe. I painted it camo like a M1008 and couldn't stop. Added an Antenna, rifle rack, Bridge plate and cargo top and bow set. Alas I have to sell my truck. I'm thinking I'll get more overall if I remove the cargo set. Any idea what...

    Bumper numbers over white paint?

My M1009 is all 383 Green- no camo yet. I have just painted my nearly finished M416 Trailer to match. I have applied the Stenciled numbers to the bumpers; but it is low vis. Adding Driving lights on new LMC harness OR is another harness needed?

I am getting ready to install a set of HELLA 500's lamps onto my roof rack (probably, and not the guard ). I was going to buy the LMC harness to increase my stock light output while at it. Q: Based on Warthog's diagram on the Headlight Sticky, could I modify his headlight upgrade...

    Second row seating mod

    ID this paint scheme please

I was at Ft. Lewis in Washington a couple of days ago picking up some auction lots. I passed some motor pools and vehicle bone yards that made me drool all over my interior's upholstery. Big fun! I noticed that many of the M1009s I saw had a paint job similar to this one, which I did a quick...
