I didn't know there was an A1 version to the 1008? I added a 3.5 inch lift to accommodate the 37 inch tires with a 2.5 inch spacers for clearance. I will see if I can find the differences. I have a pretty complete parts truck I may go out and have a look at it as well.
The truck below is pretty much how I got it from the AR National Guard, except for the lift and tires/wheels. Since I have had it the bed cover has come in handy as a catch all. A couple of weeks ago I cleaned it out to use it as a camper at the KAMO rally. I have not seen many other beds...
Back to the 983's, what are the easy to recognize differences in the 2 and 3.5 king pin variants? I see some of them have vertical exhaust stacks and others have the exhaust laying horizontal across the bed behind the cab?
I don't have the fever yet but a HEMTT may be unavoidable! I use my tractors more than anything else so a HEMTT tractor would be what I would like. I see the M48 power units and then the M983s, is the 983 just a fixed tractor?
I have never had to take the crate/cardboard or crate until this last pickup and I have visited OKC GL about every other month since it became a national center for GL. I got way more than I need anyway, besides GSA is no tax or premium!
I was at Oklahoma City GL today to pick up an over sized brief case and some non-metallic hoses, I was on time and everything went well until the GL guy brings the brief case out in a 4X4X2 foot crate, which he lets me know is not going to fit into my Honda! i told him I didn't want the crate...
