Is it REALLY necessary to filter used engine oil down to one micron to burn in our multifuel engines? Will 3 micron do?

Dad gum! Look what I started. Pawnshop, just F.Y.I. I did buy one of the Deuces at Fort Sam; am headed east to look at it this week; waiting on the EUC. I now call it my "smart truck", after the smart car. Can't wait to burn filtered used motor oil in it. Oh my, I feel so "ecologically" minded.

Anybody know what trucks generally have the Whistler turbo on them, is there a certain range of years it was installed on the Deuce? Is one make more likely to have a Whistler on it than another manufacturer?

The 700 R4 is a piece of Cr@!; don't even think of using it. Problems with the lockup; problems with the pump inside the unit; again, forget it. One of the worst units ever produced.

Is either engine better than the other? New to the forum but If I end up with a truck soon..............
