    Surplus hummers hitting the market?

IMHO, I doubt it. It looks like quite a few are going to the Iraqi Police and Military. The HMMWV will probably still be used stateside or in other theaters for years to come.

    Indiana MVPA Meeting

For those of us not going to Aberdeen, sigh, there is a meeting of the Indiana chapter MVPA coming up on 12 MAY, 10:00 AM at the Historical Military Armor Museum in Anderson. This will be the last meeting before the July 13-15 MV Show at the museum.

    Indiana Gang

I won't be able to make it either. We have an Indiana MVPA meeting on the 12th and I have other stuff to tend to on the 10th. One of these days....

    M37 corner bows & timing ?'s

Timing I run a set of jumper cables out the window from the battery box (off the first battery) to the engine. I wedge a piece of plywood (about 8" x 12") between the air cleaner and side panel, then hook the cables onto this. Then I can hook up any of the 12V stuff I need up there when I'm...

    Indiana MVPA Meeting-10 March

IMVPA Details? Hmm, well, I don't know what to say except it is the Indiana affilliated chapter of the MVPA. Usually the meetings are held at 1000 on the second saturday of the odd months (JAN, MAR, MAY, etc) at the Carmel, IN American Legion. Drop on by for the MAY meeting which will...

    Indiana MVPA Meeting-10 March

For those here in Indiana, there will be a meeting of the group 1000 hrs Saturday, 10 March, at the American Legion, 852 W Main St, Carmel, IN. The January meeting went pretty well. One of the more organized meetings I've attended in a while. Decent turn out with 15 members which may not...

    new to site and M37s

M37 Quirks Hello, Welcome to the forum. The trucks are pretty reliable if they are kept in good shape. Less technology and gadgets bolted and wired in make for a fairly reliable vehicle. However, they have their quirks. Mechanically, each truck is a little different in condition. For...

    Dash Lights+ turn signals

Dash Light Disassembly I didn't know you could take the dash lights apart. Or is it a newer style you are talking about? I have a '54 with the original lights as best as I can tell. I've never messed with them because they work good now but can I change the bulb out in these too?

    Your truck gotta name??

Patches Right now I call mine "Patches." I am piece by piece doing a rolling restoration. As I refurbish/rebuild something I paint it with a fresh coat of SG OD before it goes back on. The body is that Krylon brand Flat Camouflage paint from Walmart that the previous owner put on about 6...

    M37 front canvas support

Sorry, same here. I spend more time on the G741 site than over here. Anyway, on my truck (others may be slightly different) I have the canvas on and I measured it at three places-at the center and at each side about 7" in from the front corners (to clear the curve on the support tube). Both...

    Vintage Wiring?

Wiring Connections I have some mixed wiring connections on my M37 where I've replaced an instrument designed for newer Packard style hooked to my Douglas harness connection. I'm trying to remember my harness and any points where you may have other problems such as where a female Packard...

    Paint samples, decisions decisions

24084 Hey! That looks like a good enough match to me, at least from what you've tried so far which is what I've used on some of my stuff but not the truck yet (next year's project). Thanks for the demo.

    Flexible heater ducting

Worldwide Shortage When I checked at my NAPA last week, he told me that the supplier was on worldwide backorder. He is supposed to be checking and let me know when it is available. The smallest length I could get was 6' long.

    Who is this guy?

Have you checked with him yet? I haven't heard of him before either and I have been to two big MV shows in Ohio this year. Seems like he should've been at least at one of them. If he was, I didn't see him (or any of the kits). I did a reverse lookup on the number and came up with a Robert K...

Lost blinkers and brake lights... Help...

I presume you unplugged the trailer and still nothing worked? Do you have any other lights like parking/B.O./headllights/dash? If you do, then the breaker and main switch are likely still good. If all your other lights are good, I would focus on the signals circuits. Start with the wire...

    New M37 owner

Welcome Geez, where are my manners? Welcome aboard. Looks like your truck just needs some cleaning and refurbishing. Most of the parts look like they are there with no major damage. Nothing that couldn't be fixed in a normal garage. Nice deal. This is a great forum as you probably already...
