    Humvee tail light question

I'm not sure what you're asking either. What do you want to put them on? Is it 24v? If not there are still some options for you that are 12v. You may have issues with the LED's not tripping the relay as they don't draw much power or blinking to fast (like you have a bulb out). You may need...

Great, now what did I do? (w/pictures)

My geared hub package hasn't arrived yet. As soon as it does, i'll put it on. It doesn't look like it'll be too hard to connect it to the suspension arms, i'm a little worried about where the universal joint connects though as i haven't messed with any MV's before. I did order an Airlift...

Great, now what did I do? (w/pictures)

It was pretty much one big solid brittle mass. I think the majority of the bearing is that curved flat piece you see laying where the ball joint mounts. The rest of it turned into metal powder...seriously it felt like flour. New hub assembly on the way!

Great, now what did I do? (w/pictures)

Yeah i'm pretty sure there was either no gear oil in the hub, or there was a bad seal and it all leaked out in the grass, where it wasn't seen pooling, and then driven away. When i removed the various covers the inside was filled with metal powder. You can't really tell from the picture, but...

Good looking HMMWV! That had to be a rough ride. I'm glad that, on mine, everything sort of welded itself together preventing the wheel from flying off and destroying something. I can't wait to get her running again. She's a great truck when all 4 wheels spin. Big thanks to the builder for...

More good news: the guy who built it is sending me another geared hub assembly. I love life again.

I'm pretty sure it was lubed originally but it probably leaked out through a bad seal. You make an excellent point though. I'll be checking the others.

Great, now what did I do? (w/pictures)

I guess in my original post i should have explained further as the focus has been taken from the geared hub issue to what tools to use to remove a tire. I'm well aware that i don't need a impact wrench to remove bolts. When i said i couldn't take the tire off it was due to the weather (storm)...

Great, now what did I do? (w/pictures)

I haven't, but the truck was built from new parts...new engine, trans, transfer case, etc etc. He put 170 miles on it and i put 200 miles on it so about 370 miles ago would be my guess. If it is a spindle nut, i hope that's easy to fix aua

I'll know by tomorrow when my rattle gun gets back. It looks like when a regular car has a bad wheel bearing. Everything is connected normally, just the wheel and tire flop around when you jack it up.

Lug nuts are good. I just jacked it up and the wheel is wobbling like crazy. Unfortunately i can't take it off yet as i let a friend borrow my rattle gun.

Great, now what did I do? (w/pictures)

So i'm meeting some friends for breakfast that want to see the new Hmmwv. As i'm driving down the highway the thing starts to track weird, i smell burning rubber and i pull off immediately. The issue is coming from the driver's side rear. It felt as if i lost the toe-in adjustment linkage on...

    HMMWV Overheat Q's and pictures

The TDM came in today but unfortunately it was fried. It smelled like burnt electronics from the time i pulled it out of the box. I drove around today with no TDM and the engine stayed at 219 the entire time which was nice. The fan being on constantly was about to make me deaf though.

Where can I find a Pintle riser with the shield mount?

If your shield looks like this, you be willing to measure it for me? The angles i can figure out, i just need the length width etc. I've looked for measurements for the last 3 months and can't find them. We have some plate aluminum that were gonna bend to the correct shape

    Question about tailgate chain replacement...

You'll have to check out the size you'll need but you can get it anywhere. It's on a popular bidding site. Just figure out the diameter you'll need and type "heat shrink Xinches" and you'll have what you'll need

Where can I find a Pintle riser with the shield mount?

I've only seen these once. My goal is to make an aluminum shield replica. I have some dimensions i just need the riser to mount the shield to. http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p235/beltfed34/DSCN9746.jpg This is the only one i've ever seen listed...if anyone knows a source, please let me...
