Crap.
I hope that isn't it...it seems complicated. I was able to take a quick peek and look up the part on the TM that it appears to be leaking from. It looks as thought it's coming from the where the "transmission modulator" meets the case. It's leaking down the side to the pan it then...
So i've essentially fixed the majority of the leaks i can find and my m1025 is running great. I have noticed that when i let the thing sit for a while i lose tranny fluid like crazy. As long as it's running consistently, it seems to hold it all in and it dipsticks right at the hash marks...
Oddly enough it has stopped smoking the last few times i've started it. I was hoping to get a video for you guys, but there doesn't seem to be a problem anymore. I let it sit for a week assuming that whatever may be pooling up would do so then get burned off.
The other three hubs were mostly full so i'm glad i didn't do any long term damage on those. I did add a little fluid to the other three but not much. I just bought an input seal for the rear diff so i'll be swapping that soon and she'll be completely drip free (yay me).
As far as the smoke...
I'll take a video after it's sat for a day, so you can see. I'll start a new thread on it when its had a day or two to sit before starting it. Transmission leak is now fixed! Thanks everyone for their help.
I've been looking into brush guards for the HMMWV. I'm happy with not having one, but i bought this thing so i can spend quality time with my father wrenching on it, so the more opportunity to add/fix/replace stuff the better. Anyways there are many brush guards, and i'm sure i'll forget a...
I have nothing to add regarding the red dot system, however i would like to say that that thing is bad ass.
What's the deal with the soft top? I would also get the armored grill.
I should have phased that better, what i meant to say is this:
I have two problems left to tackle, my transmission leak, and the fact that my engine sends up white smoke for about 5 minutes when it starts (if thats an issue at all). Sorry for the confusion. Tomorrow i'm replacing a brake...
It would depend on the tire model such as MT or MTR or the bead lock bolt pattern on the rims, such as 8 or 24. I think the going rate for MTRs (most current) are around $120-$150ea for 3/4 tread and 24bolts rims are 50-75ea.
Its fixed and running fine! Thank you for all your help!
i still have a transmission leak and it seems to be sending more white smoke through the pipe than usual...but that'll be another thread i'm sure.
outstanding thank you.
In this situation, i have a completely rebuilt geared hub assembly. I figured i would be able to remove the 2 large cotter pinned castle nuts to drop the thing straight down after removing the half shaft and the steering arm cover. I have to reuse the side plate with...
I checked the TM's as best i could, and i see how to repair the geared hub assembly, but not how to install/remove it from the upper and lower arms. Any tips?
