Just a slight update. Filtered about 200 gallons so far. Still losing some temperture by the time the oil reaches the bowl, about 30 degrees. Need to up the barrel temp a little, it's about 160. Did find a copper float to get my float switch working, now I need a piece of 1/4 threaded rod...
I need to get a set too... O wait, already have one! Did a joyride the other day, and was split-shifting the truck for the fun of it... Does it so much nicer with the taller 5th gear.
Now if only my truck look as nice are yours.

I'm with Kenny, very anti-mud these days. Done enough of the cleaning/repacking. Let the newer deuce owners explore the capabilities of the trucks!
I know my front axle won't be making noise as I'm driving 200-600 miles away. Gee, tear it apart and make everything good in my driveway, or do it in a wal-mart parking lot 300 miles from home.
I'm halfway through replacing the boots on my truck. Going with the solid silicone boots from Boyce. It did need tore down, grease was a nice runny mud. New inner seals. I even took the u-joints apart and repacked the needle bearings. First time that far into the M35, now I won't have to...
It's not rated any more, because the crane is so darn heavy. 20,000lbs empty, 3500lbs cargo on road, none off road.
The frame and springs are only things different from a M35. The rear axles also have a different part# than a M35, but no one knows why. They look the same.

That pretty well kills any odd/rare parts. It's just a gasser M35 now. Should still have the reinforced frame and overload bar on the springs

I have two of these brake actuators, drum version. One is on an old pickup bed trailer, hooked to the original truck brakes. Other is on a car trailer with hydraulic brakes. Both of them I installed. They work just fine. I don't know what the trailer braking system is like on the MV...
