Brake adjustment after replacing wheel cylinder?

Most Folks, don't adjust their brakes, often enough! When they are adjusted properly, its usually tough to get the drum off, without backing the shoes off.

    1502 miles

Great trip! Sometimes the trip takes you. When I used to do the Alcan with a 211, I always had to look back, and see what I would do different, but that is the nature of a good trip! It always amazes me, how many Folks, even here on this sight, pass up great ecuses to use their MV - like risk...

    M37 in tow

I towed mine, some time ago, when I was running my M211, but found that if I tied the steering wheel in the M37 straight, with several bungi chords, it would eliminate problems on any corners. While it might drag a little, going around the corner, the steering was good for the straight, when...

Low air pressure alarm not working.....

DOT likes to see the buzzer come on @ exactly 60 psi, and feel very positively that that one feature, is the best "CASH COW" they have! AND, they won't care wether a CDL, is required or not. Probably, only driving without brakes, would equal not have a working low air buzzer!

My new M101A2 - rear leg issue

Watch Ebay - you should be able to come up with a whole nuther leg, or just the inside. I always worried that the center part could rattle along, and be lost by unscrewing. Finding all thread that size, and making one, is another option.

    Air Brake system troubleshooting

It might be easier to learn a civi spring brake system 1st. Your truck has extra features in it, that civi trucks don't have. The pressure protection valve, just gives priority to the essiential stuff 1st. Do you have a tractor protection valve? Apply brakes about half way, block pedal...

Does the lunette ring rotate? and best postion?

You can get a pretty good swing on the rear corners of the lunette ring, with a 16# hammer (BFH). When you get the lunette out, wire brush it good, then put some never-sieze on the taper & threads, before you put it back.

    Engine manufacture?

Besides the Number issue, Isn't the manufacture of the engines, White? They were building engines for tractors, long before they won a contract to build engines for the military.

    Deuce broke down today

Hey Rocket Vertually all water pumps are re-buildable! I have played with them, over the years. Like in Ag Tractors, they routinely re-build them. Backwoods guestimation.... there are only a couple main sizes of the sealed water pump bearing, and shaft. You cut the shaft to length. Take...

Are there other rims/tires that will fit?

Luckly, I have a pretty good set of Goodyear Super Lug tires on my M37. They too, are out of production. Tires are a sever handicap though. The 101 trailers are really limited too. It makes them almost obsolete, in that my 101 trailer has 1951 dated tires NDT's on it. I won't hardly take it...

MEP 002A - fuel tank clean up?

I would think that welding on the tank, would cause excessive distortion. Also those tanks are usually tin or zinc coated - the welding heat burns off too large an area. With pin holes on other MV tanks, I have had good luck just soldering them. At worst, I cut a small patch made from pieces...

MEP 002A - fuel tank clean up?

Unless you take them off, you can't get them clean enough.

    Starting 3-ph motors w/003A

My 003 trips the breaker on my 5 hp, 1 ph, compressor. Are adjustment procedures for breakers in the TM, or is that not wide spread info. I never thought to look, but will tomorrow when I get to the shop. Thanks

    Problem with 002a AC meter

I just checked my 003 - there is no resistor on the terminals on its volt meter either.

    Problem with 002a AC meter

I don't know what the wire coil resistor does, is supposed to do, or if it is supposed to be there. Probably somebody else will chime in, with the answer. But my experience is this: on the 002 that I just got from GL here, with only 8 hours on it, there was no such resistor stuff on the...

    General MEP Question

They don't seem to be high on the list of enforcement priorities, if they do require licensing. I towed a 003 home from Virginia.

    New MEP 003A owner

Welcome to the site! Best bet is to read some of the MEP posts, and familiarize yourself some. You will find your parts here, and also the help you need to get her running in style. There is quite a MEP following. Somebody will probably chime in soon. Be sure to find and down load the...

    Problems With 16.00 Tires

Have you checked the alignment, all around? Like how is the caster, camber & toe-in? Toe in should be about 0 for radials ( the 1/4" you speak of, is nothing). The camber, you can check on a nice flat concrete floor, with a framer's square. Does the truck want to go straight down the road...

    Tire Pressure Gauge Failure

I would be cautious abpout using straps, as the split rim might cut them, if she blows. I use a chain with two wraps @ 180 from each other, spaced half way from the rims ends on the split rim. I don't have the cage. Use the remote valve and clip on chuck w/short hose. Put about 5 # or less...
