Got it. Thanks for the info. perhaps i could go to the local guard motor pool and snap some pics. The CA guard still has a ton of M35 and even the A2's.
On some web site I saw CA Army national Cuard referred to with the acronym CNG. That can't be right....I think I will make it into a CA guard...
Hi,
I have an M35A3 and I am repainting it next month. Its originally from the North Carolina Air National Guard, but I will repaint it as the California Air National Guard (CAARNG) since I am in California.
Please see the attached pics. I dont really know what DS-112 means, but I would like...
M35a3
I got mine with less than 5000mi on it and everything works, including the CTIS which I really like.
Its my understanding they were re manufactured from 1996 to 1999. some Nat'l guard air wings still have them.

Call me a fool, but what exactly are we doing here? Without reading all 71 pages of the post, it seems that members give truck identification and you give history?
BTW, I made a donation a few months ago, and my M35A3 came from the North Carolina Air national Guard and is a 99 model. Do you...
Is that AMG engine a drop in?
Where can I buy one of those?
I assume its a HMMWV engine, right? I dont want to get into moding a truck engine for my HMMWV.
A guy just posted a couple days ago that he sells M35a3 parts. I get most of my parts from Erik. He has most everything for a tune up as well.

So, guys, what do you think of that engine dilvoy is offering me? Is that going to be a drop in for my 1025 with ECV kit? Is sourcing the rest of the parts going to be difficult?
Thanks in advance.
OK, so if I understand you correctly, this i the "better" version of the later model 6.5 TDL HMMWV engines?
To make a running engine out of it, what is your guess on the parts cost? Are they readily available? I'm just afraid that I will end of spending the next few years sourcing the other...
Can I put this engine in my 1986 1025 with ECV kit?

No Problem with that. Best place to start would be with your local MV club. Then get them to write a letter to the local state representative. Follow it up with a request for a meeting. Invite him/her to speak at one of your events.
The thing to emphasize here is that people don't own an M35...
I will tell you what I will do. If I EVER get cited myself for driving my M35 without a CDL, I will fight that, and in turn will prepare a legal memo. I will also appeal the case if I lose. I will certainly share all of that with you all.
Come one man--what law is not ambiguous? This is what they tell you on the first day of law school. This is why we have lawyers and judges. Don't you get that much?
You are starting to sound like some belligerent ass though. I never said I was never wrong, but I do have 3 years of law school...
"This states that a vehicle is considered a "commercial vehicle" under CA law if it is used for commercial purposes or if it is designed primarily to haul cargo. Even a personally-owned, not-used-for-hire pickup truck is considered a commercial vehicle by the state of California."
This is just...
The reason historical vehicles don't need a CDL,is because Historical vehicles are forbidden from being used for COMMERCIAL purposes. Thus we get back to why you don't need on on an M35--a non-commerical vehicle.
I am not insulted by you not believing me for not providing you citations, but to...
