Where did you get that fan set up on the rear of the slant back hatch? Is that for cooling the interior or do you have an A/C installed? I have seen similar fans on other military HMMWV's, so I am wondering if that is a military part.
Please give me some information as I like your set up.
so, if I understand you correctly, the newer HMMWV engine with the serpentine belt is made by AMG and not Caterpillar. IS this a reliable engine? IS it a good choice for a swap on my m998?
I am considering buying a new 6.5 tdl engine for my HMMWV. I found a source with one available.
Apparently its the new engines that are going in the new HMMWV's and is not a GM engine. In fact, I am hearing that its most likely a CATERPILLAR Engine with serpentine belts.
Does anybody have any...
Great! Thanks for the advice. SO when I am searching for this engine, apart from the 6.5 TDL, what am I searching for? Is there a special name for this engine? Thanks!!
I have an 87 m998 6.2 diesel and I was trying to figure out if I could make an engine swap to a 6,5 turbo diesel?
That is to say, is it a straight swap? Do I need to make some major mods? What engines are recommended and where can I get one? I want to buy a new rebuild, or new if possible...
So I did some research and it seems ballistic glass this thick could only stop up to a 9mm or .357 at the most. I guess that's better than nothing. Maybe stop shrapnel as well.
Are these truly ballistic windshield glass, or just standard for hmmwv? Seems 5/8 was not thick enough for ballistic and now I am thinking its just replacement glass for what I already have on the 1025.
any ideas...
So my real question is now I have a bunch of HMMWV doors that rare new except for one which is desert tan. I have a Milspray CARC substitute for which to pain them with, but can I prep sand them with no worries?
Yes I would like a picture. Where can one purchase such a mount? Is it similar to what I have shown?
I picked up the happy trigger in Hong Kong for about $1K two months ago. Its quite ridged, all metal, mostly aluminum and some steel. Its very nice as it uses a standard m4 mechanism inside. It...
Thanks for the info!!!! Actually, I am Navy reserve, so excuse my incorrect lingo, but I have ll of these mounts as well. I will get started working tomorrow and let you know how it turned out.
I have this m240 replica BB gun for my HMMWV .
I have the turret shield and pedestal mount, but I can not figure out how this gun mount goes on the rifle. It looks like maybe one piece is on upside down. I have pins to hold it on.
Any suggestions or pictures appreciated.
They had a HMMWV retrofit kit for over $800, but I did not need all the lights and their full housings so i bought them individually. Mostly, just the fronts.
Is there a way to resolve this problem then?
I recently installed some Grote LED lights on my HMMWV. Everything works fine. The one problem I have is that the turn signal indicator light on the steering column is flashing so dimly, that I can't even see it.
I remember a while ago reading somebody had a similar problem but now I cannot...
A full set runs from $1600 to $2000 depending on the condition. I took one used rear door and the armor plates and re installed them. The other three were new. Duane's number is: Duane 661-873-5443. Tell him you found him from Dean on SS.
I just too a road trip to Bakersfield California, where I picked a set of four new (with storage and handling scuffs) HMMWV armored doors, with ballistic glass. So new in fact the windows still had the stickers for use and care on them.
Anyway, if you are in the area, its worth it to go pick up...
wow
WOW! That was a lot of work. Looks interesting, but i have yet to figure out why anybody would do that to an M35? Were you having trouble parking it?
