M35A3 stays on the shop van
I believe the M35A3 is going to be around for a while longer in the form of M109A4 shop van. This is from a FY2008 reserve equipment report I pilled off the net.
"iii. Sustainment Initiatives
The following initiatives are examples of how the Army Reserve has...
Thanks. Yeah I talked to will a few days ago. He is going to have a look at it and help me out. He needs to see what I have as I don't think he has worked on A3's before. But that should not be a problem for him. Actually, I am not too far from him, but he agreed to come out my way. Seems like a...
Seems there is not a lot of information abotu the A3 except one small supplemental manual. its about 175 pages long.
I have been reading the TM for the A3. It says I need 15W40. Is there any brand that is better for this type of CAT engine?
It also talks about the levels, but does not say how...
I was reading some article on my M35 truck and the new FMTV, which entered service in 96, but apparently they were still upgrading to the M35A3 until 99'.
How much longer was the extended service program supposed top keep the M35 in service? It would to be interesting to know, as I guess then...
"Understand that according to the letter of the law, you'll need a Class B license (commercial) to drive ANYTHING with 3 axles in CA."
I dont want to beat a dead horse, but this lawyer has researched the sh%t out of those alleged laws, and it just does is not the case. Only applies to 3 axeld...
Thanks. I am sure it seems harder than it is to me right now....if I could just get a pic or two i could figure it out. Oh, and did you use pins or bolts?
I have searched the forums and can't seem to find any information on how to get my NOS Green brush guard on my M998.
I have one of those small bumpers in the front with three holes in it and tow hooks. Does that have to be removed?
I like of like it. Is there a way to keep it and the tow...
RE: repainting
That's pretty much what I planned on doing. That explanation was very helpful with nice photos. Once I get mine painted I will post some pics. Its gonna be a few weeks as I collect and make the supplies.
RE: repainting
I agree. Just gonna tune it up this weekend and get going...but it has a couple of serious rust spots that are going to burn through something if I dont act soon. Must have been in the rain a lot.
RE: repainting
Thanks guys, you have been a big help. Seems the salespeople at Milspray know less than you.
BTW, did you paint it outdoors? I was thinking that would work on a calm day. What do you think?
Thanks!!! SO if I understand you correctly, if I were to repaint the vehicle exactly how it is painted now ,with the same colors, only the unit or other identifying markings ie "US ARMY" would differentiate it from another services' identical truck?
update question: Although the Army and the Marines might use slightly different colors on their M35 paint jobs, would the camouflaged pattern be the same?
Thanks
Hi, I am trying to order non-CARC paints for my M35A3. I am ordering from Milspray. They have everything in non-CARC COlors, but I can not figure out what colors I need and neither can they (or they dont want to risk being wrong)

The truck was former NC ANG, but I dont think...
Can you guys post some photos or give me some ideas on how you mounted your license plate on your M35s?
I want to mount it in a way that meets the legal requirements, but i dont want it to be so conspicuous that it looks stupid.
Thanks in advance :?:
Got any contact info for him? I would like to give him a call and make an appointment at his shop? Camping sounds great if I am in town. Spend a lot of time in Asia these days.
