    Depot Rebuild Tag

As you will note by the other post, I am working on the Deuce. I bought this truck from Joe Young (a member) who bought her from Bruce (BKubu). The truck has a tag on the dash under the data plate that states: MMD General Support Repair Program October 1995 The plate is bright aluminum about...

    Need y'all engine gurus help

Thanks for the replys. Just want to make sure I was clear. The truck doesn't try to idle at 1500. I have to pull the throttle to a minimum of 1500 rpm to keep it running. If I do not set the throttle at least this high then it won't crank or idle. Don't have to use the engine stop.... just...

    Need y'all engine gurus help

Worked on the deuce this weekend to bring her in good shape for logging, etc. Here's the problem: She will not idle under 1500 rpm. Have to pull out the throttle to keep the engine going. Had a "diesel mechanic" look at it and he said he had no idea.... so I tackled it using the K.I.S.S...

    not really a rant but

In Ga you don't have to sign but the GDOT is starting to crack down. The main way fella's get away with it: Mount a tank that is used to fill machinery in the front of the bed of the pickup (diesel) .......then run a fuel line from the bottom of the tank into the fuel tank of the pickup. GDOT...

    Final questions for pickup

RE: Re: RE: Final questions for pickup GL1 is the same as the old fashioned mineral oil that you can get at Farmers supply (i.e. Feed and Seeds, etc.). Some fellas have upgraded to syns. and more modern lubs. As ida stated, there are numerous threads on the subject. However, for the pickup...

    Final questions for pickup

Not in the way of supplies but tools....don't forget buckets because if you change the fuel/oil filters on the premises some of the bases are very picky about spills......Anniston AL made sure we wiped excess grease from fittings so it would not drop or be slung on the ground when we moved. I...

Looking to purchase this deuce.... too expensive???

Stalker, I don't know Joey or his deuce but it doesn't look bad for the price... also considering a trailer is included. You can add (or have added) the winch and canvas for alot less than the difference in the price of the truck you referenced and Joey's. Just my 2cents

Out of town, having trans issues, help.

For the other viewers on the site: gave Joe a call and he said the trans had shifted back into 3rd and seemed to be working normally. The trans had actually built up enough pressure to push the dipstick up to cause it to leak. I told him that the least it could be was either some trash that...

Out of town, having trans issues, help.

If it is sliding down in another gear than I really don't know what is going on.....shift linkage? If is rev'ing up because the bands are slipping (which should not happen with a recent rebuild) then you can dope up the trans to stop or limit the slipping and get you to your destination. I...

Out of town, having trans issues, help.

So you are saying that the trans has shifted into a lower gear? Higher rev?

    Been stuck like this?

So I gather he has a good wrecker business :) ....or is that included as part of the price of the truck ?

    finished tire swap

I like it too! Probably a stupid question, but I know almost nothing about Hummer and M1009's... Did you need the spacers because of different bolt patterns? Wheel well too shallow for rims and tires? or both?

    stuck deuce

Re: RE: stuck deuce That sounds like it was fun! Funny how you could scare off the kids with a ride that probably cost 1/10 the price of theirs....

    "Air Force" M35A2 trucks

To Moderators: Just became aware of the rule against GL link postings. As you know my topic was how to identify an "Air Force" truck and I used the link as an example rather than promotion of the particular sale. I edited the original post and deleted the link. Sorry about the violation.. (I...

    "Air Force" M35A2 trucks

580, Looked back at the previous threads but could not find an answer to the question; Dan, I agree... I was encouraged by the blue bus next door; Kenny, you just put me back to square one with the info on the door markings; I am confused.....(which is not an uncommon condition for me).....
