I have to tell you that your videos have helped me out on more than one project. I had to drain and drop the fuel tank on my new M1010 due to water issues and was dreading the fuel filter swap at the end. Watched your video a couple of times and followed the -20 and it couldn't have gone...
IT LIVES!!!Bwahahaha
Okay, it's running any way. As a matter of fact, it's still running as I let it get up to operating temps before I shut it back down.
Thanks to Aboonski on his video on changing a CUCV fuel filter. I had heard horror stories about doing it but it was really a snap and...
This would have been an impossible task without Keith_J. I owe him more than a pasta dinner for this one.
One more good day of work and a new driveshaft and we should have it moving under it's own power.
Good thing we dropped the tank. After pulling it out there was about a pint of water sitting in the bottom. We then dumped the diesel out of the 5 gallon cans into a 5 gallon bucket and watched the water separate out of that. All told there was probably a quart of water that was in the...
I'm still going to drop the tank and flush it out to make sure there's no sludge in there. Might as well before I start it up for the first time. Better a little extra work now versus sitting in the Mojave in June wishing I had done it.
Drained off half the tank of fuel this evening before it got dark. Haven't seen a drop of water or any other type of contaminant yet. Going to have to locate a couple more fuel cans to drain the rest out (it would have a full tank no less).
A little more disappointment. Turns out the fuel cap is missing. Since it's been sitting in several feet of snow and no telling how much rain before I have to assume there's a gallon of water in the tank. I'll need to drop it, drain it, and dry it out before trying to start.
Okay here's the pics.
A few goodies inside but not much, fairly new triangles, 1st aid kit, poor condition -10, and a whole bunch of new straps.
Disappointed to see the broken windshield. Looks like a heat crack. Probably had it buttoned up tight on a hot day.
Doesn't look like it's been...
Nope, not yet. He called from south of Ft Worth at 1:30pm (which is normally about a 4 hour drive) and it is now 8pm. Is it just me or does this guy seem like one enormous flake?
No those are the 2 I posted about earlier. You must not have looked in the actual sale listing after 4pm (the sale went over). That's where the REAL sale price was. $2850 w/w and $3300 w/o.
Well trucks that were going for under $1k in October are closing at over $2k in the current market so whether the end is near or not, the price for the time being has certainly gone up.
