Where do you put your chocks? I put 2 behind the driver side rear wheels (middle axle and rear axle). It rests on a small incline.
When you're not on an incline where do you put them?
After looking at the video below I should put 2 behind my rear right and left tires.
I remember removing the batteries...yep got it now. It is a PITA. I recently cleaned up my battery box. Good point but I do want to run 4 batteries since I have a few electronics hooked up. I'm putting an isolator between the 2 pair and a solargizer that keeps them charged.
What's the advantage of doing this? I would think the batteries would be more exposed to water when fording. Is it to keep harmful fumes out of the cab? Or, just easier access?
I was just saying that I don't have enough MV knowledge to make a good decision. Being a vet has nothing to do with it other than I favor PB which is patriotic and combat truck. To me they all look great. I do favor armored and prepper type vehicles. It's just what I'm interested in. I'll have...
They all look great! I don't have the mechanical or historical knowledge. So, I'm not qualified to vote. However, as a vet I do lean towards Papabear. As an prepper I also like **** On Wheels and Rayzer.
I don't think so either but I don't want to get in trouble and don't want the MV hobby to get a bad reputation. I have caution lights for my truck but I haven't used them. There are a few rides going on these next month and we may do a convoy. So, I looked up the law and am asking for some...
Got it and thanks. I guess I'll only use them when stopped and I see a significant hazard. And from what I gather there is no law that states you cant have them on you're vehicle. Thanks for the clarification.
So, you can have yellow lights on military vehicles and civilian trucks but you cant use them unless stopped. So, on convoy at slow speeds (45 MPH) on a 70 MPH highway you can not use caution lights?
A flatbed, car carrier, or rollback may not use amber rotating or flashing lights when hauling a vehicle on the bed unless it creates a hazard to other motorists because of protruding objects. Further, escort vehicles may show or display amber lights when in the actual process of escorting...
Thanks. That's what I was thinking but, I wasn't sure. I have them on my pick up truck too. I turn them on when I convoy with military vehicles. I just wanted to make sure that I don't need a license or need some type of permission. I only use them when I convoy.
Caution lights on military or civilian trucks legality
Are we allowed to have caution lights on our military vehicles?
What about our civilian trucks?
I sometimes tow another 5 ton and I was wondering if I can put yellow lights on the tow truck (5ton) and lights on a civilian lead truck.
