RE: turbo gallery
Those fittings are always tight. Never use cresant wrench on those, they'll round off easy. I'd use a piper wrench over that. Heat up around the plug without heating the plug itself too much. I found a large socket that fit it when I did mine.

Anyone who has greased their deuce has probably noticed that the zerks on the driveshafts all point down if the driveshaft is indexed correctly. Seems like every time I get under the truck I'm lucky to have them all pointing down.
Remember to index the zerk fittings when you uninstall/install...
I was also thinking of a theft deterent. When I leave the truck running at places I think the chain and lock will do around the steering wheel, it's better than nothing. As far as parking it and shutting it off I was thinking about maybe hiding a switch behind the seat's or something that's in...
My idle bounces a little at idle. I have my idle set around 850 or so. It doesn't bounce much but you can definetly hear it and see the smoke puffs. I'm not expecting any IP failing though. I'm guessing it had to do with adding the turbo.

That's Harold Stancil's place/trucks. I bought my deuce from him. That forklift is awesome, you should see it up close. I think he want's $15k for it, not much at all for someone that would use it. It's huge! He also has a 5-ton wrecker the last time I was there. Whenever I need a part or help I...
Nice truck, mine used to be a non-turbo til i put the new exhaust and C turbo on it. Mine never touched the street without the turbo.
Not sure how good of an idea it is to run the front axle without the flange's. I would think you could possibly lose grease out of the bearings since there's...
I used the big heavy harbor frieght slide hammer with just the 2-jaw puller adapter with no claws on it. It took alot of might and not being afraid to do it as hard as you can to get them out. I went wussy on the first side and it knocked a few years off until i get arthritus and a sore hand. On...
Yes definetly watch the runaway engine with a blown turbo seal. Only way to stop it is put the truck in high gear and let the clutch out to bog it to a stop. I've heard of a few motors being saved this way. If not, it will come apart for sure and make a huge mess.

Yea it was an impulse buy because I wanted the truck running quickly. I did do my homework, saturn list's the same part number the ebay guy did. He's reputable and everything match up. The number is 7409206. I'd like to know why they are different. There should not be that much of a size...
Okay, I admit it. I used a bit too much force on my compressor pulley and broke one of the ears on the split off on the front part of my compressor pulley. So I ordered a new one off ebay. I tried to get the old one apart but it still wouldn't budge. Waited a couple weeks for it to come in and...
Hey guy's. I've seen several posts around regarding outside door handles not working. My passangers side handle on my deuce also did not work. Yesterday while letting the coolant cool down after a flush, I decided to fix it. The fix is easy, the hardest part is getting the mechanism in and out...
When I drilled and tapped my exhaust manifold I put a port on each half of the divider with the intention of using a dual probe gauge. I definitely think you can benefit from splitting the engine in half because you can diagnose problems easier. Who makes that gauge and what does it and the...
Awesome looking! What paint did you use and where did you get it? I can't wait to paint mine, makes the biggest differance. Need to fix some rust-through inside the cab first.

Installing a pyro is definetly on the to-do list. I drilled and tapped 2 ports for probes on the manifold while the turbo and all was off during the turbo convsersion and plugged them up with anti-sieze and pipe plugs. When I get the pyro installed I'll inform some results.
