Believe the -24P has a cross reference in it. I'll leave the definitive answer to the pros. I just buy enough engines and used to buy enough units to just identify by sight and sell or swap. Salvaged a few good head gaskets that way but new ones can be had from Delks or Gulf Coast surplus.

It used to be weeks/months before one was cleared to pick up a generator. What you got when the EUC was finally approved, often didn't resemble what you bid on. Much better for us generator freaks now.
BTW: just watched parts units go for higher prices than I've ever paid...
Sounds like you need a MEP-003a engine if it is a 1800 rpm generator. There are a couple of members nearer to you who have/had some. Maybe one will chime in.

Forgot to mention that drain petcocks can be cleared with compressed air easily. They gather crud on the inside of the canister. In fact compressed air can do a lot toward clearing your lines.

If you need a starter, let me know. Careful on the grinding as it will eat the starter Bendix gear pretty quickly (probably not the correct gear description).

I don't recall you saying anything about adjusting valves, but I'd pull the valve covers, adjust valves and be sure that all ports are open on the oil pick-up/distribution pipe.
