Hey Joho,
I would highly recommend consulting the manual. It will give you the step by step, any things to watch out for, and how to prime the system back up.
Section IV in 9-2320-209-20-3-1. http://old.steelsoldiers.com/index.php?module=pagesetter&type=file&func=get&tid=1&fid=file&pid=92...
DO NOT attempt to fix and reuse that bottle jack- I saw one basically explode when a fella did that and jacked up a semi. (it was a 20ton bottle jack)
You want wood that won't crush? go to a landscape place or lowe's, buy one good railroad tie. Cut it up with a chain saw into one ft or longer...
Your right, you should push the switch in all the way firmly, but only need to hold it for a revolution or two.
The start switch doesn't carry the full current in any deuce I've ever been it. The switch energizes the solenoid, which then energizes the starter. But it can burn out if you...
Is that weight limit for everything? does anyone in the city own a RV and park it at their house? get the M109 registered as an RV. I had an old school bus that the city of Norfolk was giving me hell about a 'commercial vehicle' ordinance. So I re-registered it as a motor home. Just had to drive...
Everyone take note- don't leave Naval personnel around alcoholic beverages, especially free ones. I've drank my way around the world! Er, SAILED my way around the world!
If it just stopped running while he was driving, it may have a piston similar to the one above now. Pull the injectors, blow out the water. After you have blown out the water, replace the injectors.
Now, you should be doing this everytime you get in the truck, but if your not get into the...
Congrats on winning that MKT! I was watching it up until an hour left.
If I were you, I would change that tire before moving the trailer an inch. Take a clip on tire inflation valve, without a hose or plug on it, and clip it onto the stem in the upper right corner. Let the tire go flat...
South Carolina does that, and they call it an E or F endorsment. Mostly it's for farmers with big trailer loads and giganormous RV operations. I've been meaning to either go that route or get my CDL. Problem with CDL is all the added complications. (Logbook, rest times, etc)
I believe I heard Jwaller rebuilds turbos...
You can tell a C from a D by looking at the exhaust side- if it is about the same width from top to bottom, with a slight taper towards the bottome, it is a D. If it is more of a V shape, it is a C.
Good looking rare truck! Must have been one hell of a mountain to slow down the 5 ton like that...
I have a M146 for sale in the classifieds that would look good behind that truck...:-D
UM, they sure like to forklift a 105 or shove a deuce onto a trailer with the forks in the radiator, and we have the bill of sale in our hands so...
that makes them private vehicles.
BUT, I agree, I doubt they would do that to such a nice car, or maybe some of the worst forklift drivers...
How about just getting a dual output HMMWV alternator? I got one from TIm n' Trucks for $100, and plan to install it in my M109 for camper power and other 12vdc applications. It will fit right in the original spot, and all you have to do is take a standard alternator pully and bore it out a bit...
Ohhhh.... Heater for the box....:drool::drool::drool:
I want to find one for my truck. Let me know if yours works!
Good looking truck. Long drive for a recovery!
Got the heat thing down, anyway it would be cheaper if it was just the A/C portion?
I'm interested to see someone install this, and how they overcome the 65lb problem, build a Canadian type cage to mount it on?
Maverick,
That's because there really isn't anymore 'out of the box' ideas. Most everything has been covered in the other threads. Basically if you have to get out of town, and your tank is dry, and you DON'T care about the longevity of your multi, pour in anything that burns and has the right...
That should help MPG too... Unless you are burning whatever you can find, then it doesn't really matter too much. I wouldn't mind doing this one day, when the cost a set isn't a whole nother deuce! LOL
One pin is hot and the other is neutral. The body is not the neutral, AC circuits don't like neutral through a metal frame or box. Could cause a nasty shock. Box is usually grounded by a cable and grounding rod connected to the outside rear pass side of the box (at least both 109s I had had a...
