Cool! reminds me of the new Navy uniforms. I'm glad I got out, I'd hate to fall off the ship in OCEAN camo...
Stupid.
But I like the look of your truck, very well done!
You should always use 1st gear to start the deuce moving...
Fuel filters, or it could be like mine, turned WAY down.
Another thing, is your intank pump working properly?
You know I'm just messing with you Neil... ;-)
Jesus, I remember your rig, you did a good job with it.
I'm not wrecking a 109, I'm building a trailer out of rusted out 105s for mine. I can always loosen the bolts and crane it back on the truck.
Still not sure what I'm going to do with the...
Yep, it was 'trapped' at a quarry in Anderson, SC. A mile of track was missing from the quarry to the museums line, and 6.5 miles of the museum's track was in too poor a shape to run it over. (it is self propelled) They were still using it on about 1/4 mile of track in the quarry. The museum got...
I wonder if it would fit on the back of a 5 ton.... (evil gears grinding in Ferro's head):twisted::twisted:
It's not mine, it belongs to a local railroad museum I volunteer at. I'm one of three that can operate it. And have a set of keys.
:ditto:
Hear Hear! I'm 50/50 myself. Rare, or already in great shape, don't mess with it. Dime a dozen, bring on the torch!
besides, every m35 that gets bobbed makes your stock m35 worth more 40 yrs from now.
Oooooo.... I like that idea! I was going to put a 'porch' on the rear. One issue with having the door face forward is leakage when driving in the rain. Hell, mine leaks sitting still LOL.
For those of you asking about 'what crane?' 15 ton at 12ft. Pretty sure I can swing a 109 box around with it.
1947 AMERICAN with gas pony motor to start the big one. Still works great.
Clinto, that engine hoist is a perfect height for deuce motor pulling. My money would be on that was it's...
The pictures make it look good. If you look closer, it is pretty rusty under the cab, and we found cross members with the rivets rusted right out of them! I sure wouldn't want to drive it...
The new engine was for NG training, nothing more.
Busy? all I need is to build a trailer and then...
Glad you got her home safe. We figured the batteries had issues when they wouldn't crank the truck after charging for a couple of hours. Drives really good, I drove it to the walmart to fill it up, and chris drove it back to his house.
Have fun, and don't buy too many! (they are addictive)
Railroad. Jeep.
That's me!
I can't believe an avitar would distract you that much. "Ok, let me read this thread to make sure I do it right. Lets see, the only thing left to do to complete my rebuild is I adjust... Whoo, wtf is going on in that tiny picture to the left, I can't make...
You can't 'code' the vin on a deuce, it's not set up like a normal vin, I.E. engine, tranny, etc details in the vin. The vin is more of a when it was built, and that's about it.
Try this thread if you want to know more about vins...
That is how it is, every truck I've ever had has that lag between 3 & 4. big gear jump. I wind it way out on 3 before shifting to 4. really sucks when towing a heavy load.
All we are saying, is verify the transmission, and see if it is a 3053A or B. Even if it is, please please verify your tachs. I drove a truck yesterday where the tach was way off. I could tell by the engine noise. possibly 40 yr old gages remember...
Without a change to the stock gear ratios...
The brake lights go through the turn signal switch, as the bulbs are shared for turn signal and brake. You can see that in the wiring diagram Bjorn posted. That's why if your making a turn you can step on the brakes and the one will still flash while the other is steady.
If they were seperate...
