Clinto, that's awesome! :-D
JWC, I like your drawings
I'm not even as artistically inclined as Clinto, so I'm not going to be much help on the shirt designing. Unless we are voting on a design.
Need driver door if it isn't rusted out. And an air horn. I can't stand my 'dieing water buffalo' model electric horn on the 109.
Nice score on the t-case pto. any idea what the truck used to be? wrecker, tanker?
Looking great Joel!
I feel for you about the cylinder- I had an old forklift that the cylinder started leaking, small at first, and then within a week, a flood. Got to where I could only make one lift before the tank ran dry!
Hope you can get it fixed cheaply, they wanted $3000 to rebuild...
I heard from the DRMO guys (not Tim, the GL guy) that these trucks are coming from the NG. The local unit is a maintenance unit, so they do 'training' by fixing the deuces and replacing parts THEN turning them in. They figure the m35's are on the way out, might as well send the warehouse full of...
If you do, I would maybe want your old tired LDS to rebuild for my 109...
Not sure on a tranny, I'm not very well versed in autos. I'd go with a cummins ISX
Yeah, I tried to see if the rating was on it, but with 8 coats of paint...
It is probably the 20amp, I don't know. As it would have to run the vent fan, lights and the personnel heater, it could be the 30amp too.
Mine m35 only had one. I had to add another one, to power my convoy lights. Connecting the light kit to the headlight circuit as per instructions, would keep tripping the breaker in the light switch.
there is one on the front of my 109 box above the fuel tank as well, I'm guessing for the 24v...
First, Welcome!
you will find a wealth of information here, and plenty of us willing to help.
You can add a winch for $1000-$1500, depending on where you source your parts.
My Dad sewed one back together again, I'll ask him what he did. I know he sealed it all after he was done with something...
Still on the truck as far as I know.
I use my wifes garmin 220? I can't remember the model.
I've used it in the deuce several times. I got one of those 12v recepticles with battery clamps and just clamped it to one battery when I need to charge. It would last well past the time it would take to go from SC to VA on a charge...
Dang it! Wife saw it over my shoulder last night.
Now she is begging for a deuce of her own! She said she will either paint it like this one, or black and white 'cow'.
Oh well. At least she can pull me out when I get stuck! Only having one truck is the pits!
Hey Matt,
Thanks for the info on the headsets, I'll have to watch ebay more dilagently for a set.
Yep, I got my setup from Medlog, and he made sure I got the MX7777 surge suppressor. I also have a radio base, but not sure if I'll ever get a radio. I'd like to one day... I have duel spring...
Great looking mods!
Question, where did you get your VIC-1 headsets? that's all I need for my setup, I have everything else. Also, the power cord from the surge protector to the battery, how did you handle that? cut off one end and wire it to the terminal? Mine has connectors on each end...
:ditto:
My 1963 ford 4000 diesel tractor was 'making oil' and it would start coming out the Tach drive and the dipstick...
me thinks the leak is in your FDC or if bypassed, your IP pump.
Sorry to hear about the aborted 'mission'
Who told you blocking and chaining would cost alot? If you pay the railroad to do it, they will gouge you. If you have the manual for the M75, it should list everything you would need (blocking and chains) to strap it to a flatcar, including diagrams.
Let me get you a quote for a flat going...
Railroad
EDIT:
I guess I should elaborate. If you can get it to a local railyard with a ramp, you could have it shipped via flatcar. Might be cheaper. Let me check with the rail agent we use.
