Years ago I had the Opportunity to purchase a sharples lube oil purifier off GL. http://www.ussslater.org/decks/platfrm2/purifier.html
We used one just like it on our ship for our main reduction gear lube oil and controllable pitch propeller systems. Not sure what the GPM was, but it would do...
I have had 3 alts burn out on me or come bad from GL. Each one I took to the local rebuilder, and each time it cost $20 to have him look it over, say the regulator is fried, and that he can't get them for those anymore.
Timstrucks had good take offs for $100 or so. I got a 12v and 24v hummer...
Hello, and welcome to the site!
Many of the guys (and some girls) on here are super knowledgable, and better yet, love to help.
I agree that the best thing you could do for your truck and yourself is to purchase the hard copies of the TMs. It is soooooo much easier to take the book with you...
I used to eat at a steakhouse in Norfolk all the time. On the walls were lots of the old metal signs, not repros, but the real deal.
Several were from the 1930's about the acetone, and little pills you could put in your gas, etc etc.
If they were so great then, I would think in 70+ years...
Dude,
That's not a field.
It's a really silty pond with grass floating on it.
That sucks, I have done that too, in my own yard. but it was a 1973 chevy bus.
I think with the compression so high in a multi that a jake brake would not be good for the engine. Plus, it would get old using one just for every stop sign or traffic light. Might be nice to have though, if it would work and you were running where you could use it. (it is illegal to use in...
Hey Captain,
did you ever take a recording of your rear exhaust sound? I'm working on a similar project and would like to know if it is worth my time.
Thanks!
I'm SOOO glad this topic came up, as I was starting to lay out my rear exhaust for the Ferro Exhaust-o-matic...
Now I know where to get the parts to just bolt it all together. Thanks!!
Might be looking to get a M1008, but none are coming up here locally. Wife says we need something faster for Aberdeen, that straight shot home on Sunday is a killer...
Now I almost always preview before I buy. And I take my own pics (if they let me) so I could show stuff missing or damaged...
Hey guys,
wow, what an 'adventure'! Thanks for sharing. Gimp, thanks for the J-pipe, Rebelpride, thanks for holding it, and Jwaller, thanks for bringing it down to me. :-D
Oilcan, get better soon, being sick sucks.
Love the half-track.
Well, are you saying that the starter engages, spins the engine over just an 1", then disengages and runs? sounds like you may have a flywheel alignment issue. Did you shim the starter? it may just be catching the flywheel for a little bit then slipping off. I've had that happen, although with...
My 109 has a dieing electric horn.
I drove my old m35 from SC to VA one time. Got to my house, and was very tired, so I went to bed. About 30min later, I wake up, hearing a loud noise from out in the street. I jumped up and ran outside, and my deuce was going off! (didn't drain the tanks, bad...
Dog, in cab.
I don't have anything in my 109 yet but the chain. I used to lock the pass door, then the driver door, and leave the latch up on the front window, so I had to jump up on the hood, pry open the window, then unlock the doors. Hassle, but it kept everyone out. I also used to unplug...
If I'm not mistaken, you can get a bellhousing to bolt the cummins to the deuce tranny? then just use all stock running gear. Also would make the swap easier.
M-Series Rebuild LLC, CUMMINS DIESEL engine for DODGE M37, M37B1, M43,V41, M56 military trucks, civilian power wagon, B1pw, B3pw...
