Also, make sure your alternator has the spacer between the alternator and the block. Picture shows where it should be.

Put in a gasser. Seriously, it's basically a big air compressor so anything you can do to get more air in and out will help. Freer flowing air cleaner, freer flowing exhaust will help.

And don't forget to use reinforced rubber hose that is rated for fuel. Also use screw clamps and not spring tension clamps.

Also, make sure the mounting flange on the rocker cover is not deformed. If the cover bolts have been over-tightened in the past, the thin metal may be bent.

Anyone have a parts cucv with the spacer that runs between the passenger side alternator and the engine block that they could part with? Mine is missing as shown in the picture. If not, an accurate length for the spacer would help too. Kinda tough to tighten without one. Thanks!
